Finale Weekend for Texas ProKart Challenge Set for June 29-July 1 in Denton
Tuesday, 26 June 2012 00:00
The Texas ProKart Challenge (TPKC) presented by 3G Kart Racing/Burger King™/Fernelius Alvarez Attorneys will close out its inaugural season on the June 29-July 1 weekend. The North Texas Kartways will be the site of rounds five and six as the North Texas Karters host competitors in the Superkarts! USA and United States Rotax Max Challenge programs under the TPKC banner. Racers will complete the three event series with the championships coming down to the best five of six rounds counted toward the final standings.

The North Texas Karters operate the North Texas Kartways circuit. The 1/2-mile course is nine turns, and provides a great challenge for racers. The facility hosted the Rotax Grand Nationals in 2003 and has groomed a number of top drivers in the sport today. On the line for the champions will be a paid entry and guaranteed starting spots for the SuperNationals XVI in Las Vegas on SuperSunday in the SKUSA categories, while Rotax drivers will earn a paid entry to the US Rotax Grand Nationals in August. With a drop race calculated into the final championship standings, anything can happen in the final two rounds to decide just who will stand on the P1 step of the championship podium.

Texas ProKart Challenge Produces Solid Racing at Grandsport Speedway
Thursday, 07 June 2012 08:35
Grandsport Speedway hosted its first ever regional karting event as the growing Texas ProKart Challenge (TPKC) presented by 3G Kart Racing/Burger King™/Fernelius Alvarez Attorneys visited the facility on June 1-3. The open 1.3-mile course in Hitchcock, Texas provided a very fast course for the series to contend rounds three and four of the six event championship program. The weekend was co-promoted by 3G and Gulf Coast Karters, who moved most of their barriers, PA system, and timing and scoring equipment across town to properly host the event. Over 80 entries contested the three-day event under the Superkarts! USA and United States Rotax Max Challenge regional banners, providing some exciting racing that kept people on the pit wall throughout the day.

The weekend saw over 30 shifterkart drivers compete on the very fast circuit with the S2 Semi-Pro division, sponsored Miller & Brown LLP, hosting 17 entries. Ryan Kinnear and Garrett Boone split the feature wins on the weekend. Kinnear swept the action for round three on Saturday, leading the class through qualifying, both heat races and the feature. He led point leader Connor Wagner and Jordon Musser across the stripe. Stopping Kinnear from a perfect score on the day, Miguel Lopez stole the fast lap of the race in a 10th place effort. Sunday saw Boone qualifying in P1 position with Kinnear coming through for the win in heat one. Boone struck back to win heat two and drove away to lead all 12 laps of the main event for to earn his second feature victory of the season. Kinnear ran second for his third straight podium finish while Connor Iseli earned his first by placing third.

Texas ProKart Challenge Returns to Action at Grandsport Speedway June 1-3
Tuesday, 29 May 2012 09:59
The new Texas ProKart Challenge (TPKC) presented by 3G Kart Racing/Burger King™/Fernelius Alvarez Attorneys will return to action on June 1-3 as the series travels to the Grandsport Speedway, south of downtown Houston, Texas. The series is coming off a successful opening two rounds at the Gulf Coast Kartways in Katy, Texas with a good mixture of Superkarts! USA and United States Rotax Max Challenge competitors on hand. The same is expected when the gates open up next weekend in Hitchcock, Texas.

The 1.3-mile permanent Grandsport Speedway course was completed in 2007. The facility hosts a number of car and motorcycle clubs from the region. Next weekend will be the first competition karting event for the facility. While the length may be longer than typical sprint tracks in the country, the ‘Mako Circuit’ will provide a great challenge for all categories competing on June 1-3. The weekend will also be an excellent opportunity for the popular road racing community in the Lone Star state to experience the brand of racing that Texas ProKart Challenge offers.
