SuperNationals XIV Boasts Largest Purse in Race’s History
Tuesday, 12 October 2010 08:20
Not only will it be the single biggest karting event in North America in 2010 at an expected 450-plus drivers, but the 14th annual Superkarts! USA SuperNationals will also feature a record-setting prize package of over $70,000. The awards program for this year’s Las Vegas spectacular is diverse, ranging from cold hard cash to a trip to Italy for a world championship event in 2011 for a deserving TaG Cadet driver. Heading into the race, SKUSA has already presented free SuperNats entry packages and guaranteed starting spots to a number of drivers who excelled on the Pro Tour, and when it’s all said and done, they will dole out their new national number plates and complimentary entry fee packages to their nine Pro Tour champions. All in all, this will be the most lucrative SuperNationals in the history of the event.

The total prize money being awarded at this year’s race will be a staggering $39,500, including both the event purse and the Pro Tour championship points fund. The purse will be awarded to the three ‘Pro’ classes on the schedule – KZ2, S1 and TaG Senior. The international KZ2 category is positioned in the prime 1:00 pm time slot on SuperSunday and the drivers will once again vie for a $20,000 purse that will be split among the top-five in the class; a cool $10k going to the victor.
