SKUSA Competitor Bulletin: Pro Tour SpringNationals Entry Deadline
Wednesday, 23 April 2014 12:38

The 2014 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SpringNationals is just around the corner, with another record-breaking event anticipated for the Dallas Karting Complex facility in Caddo Mills, Texas. Competitors that are still not entered only have until the pre-entry deadline of Sunday, April 27 at midnight to ensure their spot in one of the eight categories at this year’s SpringNationals.

A cap of 44 drivers is set for the eight Stock Moto and TaG divisions. As the deadline nears, the following classes are very close to reaching that mark: TaG Senior, S2 Semi-Pro Stock Moto, and TaG Cadet. Once a class reaches its cap, a spot on a wait list will be the only option. Should a competitor miss the cutoff deadline, the price for entry goes up by $150 for at-track registration, pending if the class still has openings. Sign up today at SKUSAStore.com.

This weekend marks the opening of the third season for the continually growing Texas ProKart Challenge – presented by 3G Kart Racing/Burger King®/Chase Racing/Dallas Karting Complex/Fernelius Alvarez Attorneys. Fulfilling the need for a strong regional program in the LoneStarState, series director Dave Pauly established a program combining the United States Rotax Max Challenge and Superkarts! USA categories under one banner. Since 2012, the series has experience expansion with every event and this year’s awards package is scheduled to reach over $30,000 in cash and prizes. The third season for the Texas PKC will start this coming weekend (April 25-27) at the Dallas Karting Complex, located in Caddo Mills, Texas.

Texas ProKart Challenge logoThe opening weekend of the season is, and has been shaping to be an incredible kick off to 2014. Entry lists in all categories are stacked, continues to grow to record numbers as the race weekend approaches. The series was reduced to eight rounds of racing this year, compared to a 10-race program in 2013, making each round crucial to the regional racers looking to secure a series championship. Added to this year’s opening rounds is the addition of many Superkarts! USA Pro Tour competitors from outside the region, as the event serves as a tune-up event for next weekend’s SKUSA SpringNationals.

SKUSA Competitor Bulletin – SpringNationals Stock Moto Cylinder Declaration
Thursday, 10 April 2014 19:21

Rule exception granted for Pro Tour SpringNationals - Honda Cylinder Declaration

As many of our Stock Honda drivers have discovered, there has been an unfortunate disruption in the supply of ’01 cylinders. This has come at an exceptionally challenging time, with the Pro Tour SpringNationals just a few weeks away.

While it is expected to be a short-term problem, we are taking the following step to minimize its impact on our competitors attending this national event:

The SKUSA rule of needing to DECLARE a cylinder year and then NOT CHANGING it will not apply at this event. Cylinder declaration for this series will begin with the SummerNationals. All other rules regarding substitution remain in effect.

Note that this only applies to the SpringNationals event at this time. Also as a reminder, although SKUSA will continue to appreciate the value and merit of a forum ‘discussion’ of some racing topics, we prefer more direct communication — such as emails to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it — when racers have input regarding current policies and potential rule revisions.

We thank Honda and Honda Performance Development for their continuing support of SKUSA and their efforts to work through this challenge.

SKUSA Competition Bulletin: 2014 Pro Tour Priority Pre-Entry Program
Monday, 07 April 2014 16:34
Pro Tour SpringNationals competitors to receive priority entry for Modesto Grand Prix SummerNationals
Superkarts! USA is extremely pleased with the tremendous interest in the upcoming SKUSA Pro Tour SpringNationals on May 2-4, 2014 at the Dallas Karting Complex in Caddo Mills, Texas. The entry numbers are expected to max out in several categories, and in keeping with the intent of the Priority Pre-Entry Program for the SuperNationals, SKUSA has elected to offer the SpringNationals participants the first opportunity to enter the Modesto Grand Prix SummerNationals. There is great interest in the northern California street race, but Superkarts! USA believes that it is imperative that those running for the full Pro Tour championship, shown by their participation in Texas, should be given the chance to run the full series through this additional priority entry program.

As such, all SpringNationals participants will be given special access to registration for the SummerNationals for at least a week before it is opened fully to the public. Additional information will be supplied at a later date.

Superkarts! USA to Provide Two Free Entries to SuperNationals XVIII at Susan Lowe Classic
It was announced during the California ProKart Challenge event at the Adams Motorsports Park this past weekend that Superkarts! USA will be providing two FREE entries to the SuperNationals in conjunction with the upcoming So-Cal Sprinters 2nd Annual Susan Lowe Classic memorial race. The April 19 event at Adams will see the SKUSA TaG Senior class winner earn one of the ‘free ride’ entries, which includes race tires, an order of fuel and oil, and a guaranteed starting spot on SuperSunday for the main event. An additional SuperNats entry, including race tires and an order of fuel and oil (class to be determined), will be auctioned off at the Adams event, and the money raised will be donated to the City of Hope in honor of Susan Lowe. More info will be posted shortly at www.so-calsprinters.com and at www.adamsmotorsportspark.com.

Retraction: Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge US Rotax Max Challenge ‘Punches’
In a press release on March 27, it was announced that drivers competing in the seven United States Rotax Max Challenge categories as part of the Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge can earn ‘punches’ toward the US Rotax Grand Nationals. This is the case only at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway events, as part of the CRG-USA Colorado Rotax Series. The May 24-25 and August 30-31 events are included as part of the Grand Junction-based USRMC. The May rounds will count at punches to the 2014 Grand Nationals and the August rounds will count towards 2015. The rounds at the SBR Motorsports Park in Calhan, Colorado on June 21-22 will not count as punches for the USRMC.

IAME Italy, a world leader in the production of karting engines since 1968, is excited to make a significant announcement in regards to its North American distribution chain. In an effort to consolidate IAME’s presence on the continent, a new importer partnership has been formed to advance the product line into the future, and they will work together to promote and support IAME in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The new companies – named IAME USA East and IAME USA West – will manage their respective halves of the country, and will raise the bar for dealers in terms of support, product availability and pricing.

“We are very happy to introduce our new North American importers, IAME USA East and West,” commented Felix Rovelli, who will quarterback the new program as IAME Italy’s representative. “The future is very bright for IAME, and particularly our X30, here in the United States and we strongly believe that both of our new importers will take IAME to new levels of participation and customer support.”
