California ProKart Challenge Returns to Action in Sonoma
Thursday, 26 May 2016 12:53

The California ProKart Challenge returns to the track on June 3-4 after taking the month of May off for the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SpringNationals. Competitors are set on traveling to Northern California to the Simraceway Performance Karting Center in Sonoma for the fourth round of the 2016 season. The incredible ‘National’ circuit in the reverse direction – same as the inaugural Pro Tour event in 2010 – will host what may be the largest event of the series this year with a large contingent of SKUSA racers in the area and the growing numbers that have joined the program already in the first half of the championship.

Gearing up for the event is KC Morrison, Simraceway Technical Director. “I would like to thank the Kutscher family, Superkarts! USA, and all the teams who make the trip year after year to come race at the Simraceway Performance Karting Center. We here at Simraceway cannot wait to see all the teams and drivers in action and are looking forward to yet another great event up here in Sonoma!”

EKN Trackside: Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SpringNationals 2016 – Sunday Report
Sunday, 01 May 2016 00:00

After another warm day in the Phoenix desert, the 2016 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour is off and running with new winners, exciting stories, and loads of momentum. The first two races of this five-race national championship program are now in the books and SKUSA enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate 16 different winners in eight classes during the second day of the seventh annual SpringNationals, as there weren’t any repeat victors on Sunday. The level of competition has rose to a new level, following the trend of the overall entry numbers, hitting record heights. Winning in this program carries significant weight, and the breakthrough victories of pilots like Braden Eves (X30 Senior), Alan Michel (S4 Master), Dante Yu (X30 Junior) and Hunter Kelly (S2) have turned things upside down. Veterans rose to the occasion as well, as former Pro Tour champ Daniel Bray handled the day to score the S1 win, Jamie Sieracki was flawless in second X30 Master race, and Nick Firestone posted his first S4 Super Master victory. The young drivers in the program also impressed, with British talent Brandon Carr winning in Micro Swift while Tyler Maxson made a veteran-like last lap overtaking maneuver in Mini Swift to steal the win. In a simple statement, the competition in this year’s Pro Tour is stout.  Read full story on eKartingNews.com

EKN Trackside: Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SpringNationals 2016 – Saturday Report
Saturday, 30 April 2016 00:00

It was the start to a new SKUSA Pro Tour season, and it had it all. The first day of action at the seventh annual SpringNationals was a roller coaster ride of emotion, and weather forecasts as well. The paddock was packed, and the excitement and tension were palpable. The expectations of a typical hot and dry Phoenix day were eventually turned upside down by wind and rain, and were then made incredibly exciting by a journey from Evinco slicks to MG rains and, for the gambling few in S1, back to Evincos for a run to victory. Light sprinkles at the start of the mains made way for a period of hard rain in the middle of the X30 Master final, which pushed the drivers to adapt. And truly, the ability to ‘adapt’ was the theme for the day. A new track layout may have introduced limited overtaking opportunities, and blowing wind and sand may have decreased grip levels, but the level of competition was as record-breaking as the entry numbers, as the entire field both X30 Senior and X30 Junior qualifying were separated by less than a second.  Read full story on eKartingNews.com
