As announced on Tuesday by the Modesto Bee newspaper, Superkarts! USA will be taking its growing Pro Tour to northern California in August of 2014 for the fifth running of the SummerNationals. The City of Modesto, which is located roughly an hour away from San Francisco Bay area, will welcome SKUSA racers and teams on August 1-3, 2014 and present them with an exciting street circuit in their downtown core. The combination of the increasing numbers on the Pro Tour, along with the uniqueness of a brand new street race, could position the 2014 SKUSA SummerNationals as one of the biggest karting events in North America.
“I’m incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work directly with a city like Modesto in bringing the SummerNationals to northern California. In fact, I haven’t been this excited in a long time,” commented Tom Kutscher, who has being working for over four months to put this program together. “The city is thrilled to have us and we’re designing a professional level event to present to both the city’s motorsports enthusiasts and to those who don’t know much about racing. They are going to take this race to the next level and are working to build the atmosphere to new heights.”

Pre-entry for the most exciting California ProKart Challenge race this year is TONIGHT (Wednesday, 9/25) at midnight! Just $395 for race entry and stamped race tires for this special 2-day racing event! Click here for all event details and here to register NOW! You will also want to reserve a pit spot and/or camping spot, if you haven't already! The pits are PACKED! Click here for the pit spot info and for overnight camping at the track. Move-in is scheduled for this Friday, 10 am to 6pm, with no Friday practice. The detailed event schedule is posted here.
This event is especially unique as it is run in conjunction with a city-wide FESTIVAL! Beer gardens, live bands, food specials and up-close racing are all on the agenda! All important venue information, including directions to the pits and track, are located here.

 There’s nothing quite like karts racing through city streets. Turning the 15mph zones into on-the-edge circuits and reaching speeds of 80+ mph provides the thrill and excitement you cannot find anywhere else. The change in location for racers who spend the season at race tracks tucked away from the public eye now competing in front of fence lines full of fans and spectators pumps up the adrenaline level. Bringing this chance together next weekend will be Superkarts! USA and the City of Lancaster, California as they host the fifth annual Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix. The September 27-29 event will count as the season finale for the California ProKart Challenge series, while also giving competitors from around the United States a final chance to prepare for the upcoming SKUSA SuperNationals XVII.
The Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix is unlike any other race, partly due to the fact that the event is held on the downtown streets of the southern California city. The citizens, businesses and city officials all support and take part in the three-day festival that includes many activities on and off the circuit grounds. On Friday, September 27, while the ProKart Challenge teams and drivers settle into the downtown area, Lancaster VIP races will take place throughout the day aboard the Superkarts! USA rental kart fleet, giving sponsors and assorted local Grand Prix supporters a chance to feel what kart racing is all about. At 6 p.m. that evening, all PKC racers and crew members in attendance will be treated to a welcome reception at the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (free appetizers and drinks for those wearing a PKC armband). The Friday party continues across the street at 9 p.m., as everyone will be invited to BeX Bar & Grill. Those wearing their PKC armband can enter with no cover charge and enjoy drink specials throughout the night. Each PKC driver will also receive a FREE bowling pass from BeX in their race entry packet at registration.

We are saddened to hear of the loss of a very special man and karting father, Art Gutierrez. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and loved ones who had the opportunity to know this great person.

 In just over 60 days, it will be go-time at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas when over 500 of the best karters from around the world take part in the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XVII. The November 20-24 event is shaping up to be another record-breaking year, as the entry total for the 2013 edition has already passed the 500 mark. The 11 categories slated for action boast solid driver rosters, including countless stars from the karting scene and from the upper echelon of the motorsports ranks as well. As the official media partner of Superkarts! USA, eKartingNews.com has enjoyed an early look at the entry list, and we’ll highlight a number of names who will compete at this year’s star-studded SuperNationals.
One of the most exciting classes in the last five years has been TaG Senior. Reaching the maximum amount of drivers year after year, the competition on track never disappoints. With the 80 slots already booked, another 20 drivers are on the waiting list, all looking to get into the greatest karting spectacle of the year. In surveying the entry list, most if not all of the top-50 pilots from eKartingNews.com TaG Driver Rankings are among those entered. One interesting note: as of now, there are no former winners registered in the class.
