Engine Sealing for ALL Race Classes – Starting with the Pro Tour SummerNationals
Written by John Motley - National Technical Director
Saturday, 14 July 2012 12:09
Attention: Engine builders, Tuners, Team Managers and Competitors:

The most current version of the SKUSA Rulebook describes the necessary drilled bolts/nuts for engine sealing.

20.3.1.9.1. Should the sealing of engines be declared for the event, at qualifying each entry will have their engine sealed and recorded. The seals will normally be available in advance to facilitate the process:
Stock Honda engines: one cylinder stud and one head bolt/stud must be drilled for sealing.
TAG engines: one reed cage bolt/stud must be drilled. One cylinder stud (if present) and one head bolt/stud must be drilled for sealing.

We will have pre-drilled nuts like used on 09 Leopards available at our event at Miller Motorsports Park at a modest cost, to use on the base and head for CR125’s and in other applications. These will not work for all applications in TAG, so you will have to substitute drilled studs or nuts on your own.

Superkarts! USA Opens Registration Today for Pro Tour SummerNationals
Wednesday, 23 May 2012 09:39
The 2012 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour hit the ground running during the month of April with a record-breaking number of competitors at the MG Tires SpringNationals in Phoenix, Arizona. With the momentum flowing and excitement at an all-time high, another record number of entrants are predicted for the upcoming SKUSA SummerNationals, set for July 20-22 at the first-class Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Registration for rounds three and four of the Pro Tour open today at the skusastore.com webpage, and racers are encouraged to get their entries in quickly as more than one class is expected to sell out.

Miller Motorsports Park is a 511-acre multi-purpose facility that includes a 4.5-mile road course, the longest in North America, as well as a 0.9-mile karting circuit that will host the 2012 SummerNationals. Opened in 2006, the facility has hosted a number of national karting events as well as the Utah Kart Championship (UKC) series. The July 20-22 event will be the first SKUSA Pro Tour event at the facility, although SKUSA will make its debut at the circuit June 1-3 with the running of the second stop of the Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge. The RMPKC event will be run in conjunction with the UKC, and will be the final time racers will have a chance to compete on the same layout that will be utilized for the SummerNationals. Miller Motorsports Park will also be hosting a “SummerNationals 100” team endurance race on Thursday evening, July 19, starting at 6pm with their rental kart fleet. All attendees will be eligible to participate in this 100-lap, 20-team event, and sign-up information with pricing will be available soon in the UKC news section at millermotorsportspark.com.
