Attention TEAMS participating in the 2023 SKUSA Supernationals!
(Updated 10/16/23)
As some of you already know, last year SKUSA was informed of new regulations that pertain to some of our larger SELF-OWNED team tents defined Per Clark County Department of Building and Fire Prevention as:
“Any membrane, tent, or FTTT over 400 square feet and any canopies over 700 square feet. Tents and canopies that are together or are separated by less than 10 feet are considered same.” Additionally, any canopy with a single wall attached becomes a tent."
The above mentioned shall require a permit issued by the Clark County Fire Prevention Bureau to exist and inhabit during the event.
Applying for a Las Vegas Nevada tent occupancy permit is a little complex, but follow these directions – as you have to establish an account. Once you have an account, next year you just have to click ‘renew’ (as long as your pit map stays the same) and you’re good to go. Also, this permit is good for one year, so if there is anything else motorsports-wise you do at the Speedway, you’re covered.
Go to this website: Clark County, Nevada - Citizen Access (accela.com)
Once on the main page select the Fire Prevention drop down at the top
-
select apply for permits
-
New Users Register now (at very bottom right corner)
-
Once you are registered agree to the disclaimer and select continue
-
Select Temporary Event Permits
-
Temporary Operational
-
Continue Application
-
Permit type: Membrane, Event Structure, Tent or Canopy
-
You will then fill in all required fields, including:
-
The actual event address is 7000 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV., 89115 – but if it rejects it, try 6001 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89115 (this is the official tax parcel address)
-
If it asks for just a ‘street name’ – enter ‘Las Vegas’
-
If it asks for a ‘direction box’, leave the field blank (don’t click on it)
-
If it asks for a LOT number, put in 4 – then it should populate other boxes and allow you to proceed/continue
-
The parcel number is 12326501004
-
The next address they ask for is 7642 Speedway Blvd, Las Vegas NV., 89115 (across the intersection to our track)
-
When it asks for an inspection date, enter 11/8
-
Next should be where you’ll be asked to upload your plans/pit map/required documents:
-
When it asks for a page #, put 1 of 1 – and then go to the drop down to be able to browse and upload your pit drawing/PDF
-
When it asks, you will need to upload a photo of your fire certificate for your tent
-
When it asks, upload your certificate of insurance, which typically it is just asking for a certificate from your insurance company naming Clark County and the Las Vegas Motorspeedway as Additional Insureds
-
Then proceed with payment for the processing fee (approx. $90)
When you receive an intake number via email or automated response (watch your BULK mail or SPAM folder), send a copy of that to

via email and also bring it to the track. If for any reason it gets hung up or you make a mistake, it will tell you what it is and how to correct it. If you’re not sure you have everything you need, as long as you have an intake number, you should be able to complete the process at the track (likely for an ‘expedited’ fee).
