The unique and grueling grind of the 2020 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour ended on Sunday with the sixth and final round of competition contested at the New Castle Motorsports Park. The karting circus that began on August 6 in New Castle, Indiana came to a close with teams and competitors leaving during the evening hours. The day began with a humid overcast but northernly winds helped to push them away to sunny skies and much more comfortable temperatures then any of the previous rounds. On track, drivers left it all out on the track in hopes of moving themselves onto the championship podium, or to grab their best result of the 10-day marathon. Read full story on eKartingNews.com

The 2020 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour Summer Festival reached the penultimate round of the unique triple header, double-weekend format at the New Castle Motorsports Park. Round Five was contested around the ‘Reverse National’ course of the New Castle, Indiana facility on ‘Situation Saturday’ as the championship chases were either more defined, and for some, already locked up before heading into the series finale. Wet weather stayed away all day, providing perfect racing conditions for the 12 categories and eight race groups.

Coming off four wins in the opening weekend, Bryson Morris (RPG / Kosmic) was shut out of the podium in both X30 Senior and KA100 Senior on Friday for Round Four. Top-five finishes helped to keep the championship chases in good position heading into Saturday. Morris started the day with a stellar drive in the KA100 class. A pushback bumper penalty put him seventh on the grid for the main event. He fought his way up to third and was trailing the lead duo of Arias Deukmedjian (KSNA / WPK) and Luca Mars (SCR / Redspeed) by 1.5 seconds. Morris was able to reel them in with two laps remaining. Mars and Morris worked past Deukmedjian heading to the white flag and then Morris took the lead on the final circuit at the I-70 corner. Fighting for second behind him allowed Morris to drive away to the checkered flag for his third victory in five rounds, clinching the championship with one round remaining. Deukmedjian crossed the line in second but was penalized three seconds for jumping the start. That put Mars up to second, and Brandon Lemke (Franklin / Merlin) to third on the podium. Terrin Odom (MDR / Kosmic) was promoted to fourth and Hayden Jones (Nitro / Tony Kart) finishing fifth as Deukmedjian fell to sixth. Read full story on eKartingNews.com

Official practice on Thursday provided two days of testing on the new ‘Reverse National’ layout, utilized for the first time in SKUSA competition. Today, despite forecast throughout the weekend, was dry with overcast skies before they cleared by the end of the main events. The second half of the championship chases began with drivers establishing themselves further into the hunt or moving themselves up the order to challenge come Sunday. The third and final day of action to open the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour Summer Festival was conducted on Sunday at the New Castle Motorsports Park. Weather at the New Castle, Indiana facility was the warmest it had been all weekend long, with a rise in humidity but clear skies throughout the day to contest Round Three of this year’s championship program Eight race groups and 12 categories battle throughout the day for a unique third round of racing in the same weekend. For the quicker categories, it was about survival and hoping to end the weekend on a high note. For the classes on the harder Evinco tires, it was hoping tire strategy played out to end the weekend with success. In the end, Rolison Performance Group driver Bryson Morris won four of the six main events on the weekend in X30 Senior and KA100 Senior while Magik kart swept the victories with all three drivers earning a victory, today finding AJ Myers at the top of the podium. EKN Trackside: 2020 SKUSA Pro Tour Summer Festival – Round Two Report

Luca Mars was named winner in the X30 Senior class, earning his first Pro Tour victory in the category (Photo: EKN)

The opening weekend of the 2020 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour is at the halfway point with the completion of Saturday’s Round Two action at the New Castle Motorsports Park. Perfect weather conditions greeted the competitors at the New Castle, Indiana facility and the eight race groups including 12 categories.

The X30 Senior field put on another great show in what looked to be the first time a female driver won on the SKUSA Pro Tour. Ashley Rogero (Nitro / Kosmic) and Hannah Greenemeier (RPG / Kosmic) fought at the front of the Prefinal with Rogero making a slight mistake on the final circuit and Greenemeier earning the win. Issues on the opening circuit of the main event dropped Hannah back in the pack, allowing Will Power Kart drivers Braden Eves, Arias Deukmedjian and Phillip Arscott to control the top spot. Senior rookies Bryson Morris (RPG / Kosmic) and Luca Mars (SCR / Redspeed) joined the fight at the front in addition to four-time champion Ryan Norberg (RPG / Kosmic). Mars came away with the top spot at the end, leading on the final circuit. Eves put himself into second to pressure Mars. Heading into I-70 corner, Mars ran defensive and Eves took the high line. He held it all the way around the entire turn to beat Mars to the exit point. Eves held on at the checkered flag for the provisional victory. A pushback bumper penalty took the win away, dropping him to sixth. That promoted Mars to the top of the podium for his first victory. Deukmedjian was classified second with Norberg in third. Morris was fourth with Canadian Thomas Nepveu (PSL / Birel ART) classified fifth after Brandon Jarsocrak (MDR / Kosmic) suffered a pushback bumper penalty, dropping him to ninth.
