SuperKarts! USA Announces Joint Partnership With KBR To Form ‘SKUSA Mexico’ For 2021 Season
Thursday, 17 December 2020 15:45

2021 Is still a few weeks away, but the mood is already positive in SKUSA’s main office. Superkarts! USA and Mexico’s KBR are excited to officially announce SKUSA Mexico, kicking off in January 2021 in Mexico City. The joint venture aims to combine the success and model of the SKUSA platform with an already thriving and successful regional program, south of the border.

“Luis Jauregui is a person who shares the same genuine passion for this sport as I do,” remarked an excited Tom Kutscher. The SKUSA president went on to add, “In 20 years, I have never seen anyone who cares more about the sport and its people than he does. Watching him this weekend, interact with everyone, offering support and hearing everyone out, made me so excited for this next chapter.”

SKUSA will be supporting the new venture with insight, training, logistics, and key personnel. With its existing portfolio of Evinco Tires, IAME, and race sanctioning and promotion, Superkarts! USA are committing to augmenting the early success already occurring in Mexico City.

IAME USA West’s Alexis Kutscher commented, “We will be bringing our key employees to Mexico to help train and support the KBR staff. In everything from tech, to officiating, our plan is to preserve a model that’s proven successful in the continental United States.” She also shared “we had the great pleasure of attending KBR’s regional final and we were very impressed with the turnout, the professionalism, and the shared passion for racing.”

The six-race series kicks off January 30-31 in Mexico City and consists of six rounds to make up the 2021 championship. With a class format the mimics that of SKUSA’s ProTour, the SKUSA Mexico class structure will be as follows:

SuperKarts! USA Giving Back To The Drivers Despite A Difficult Year
Tuesday, 01 December 2020 16:42
In what can only be described as a difficult year for the sport, Superkarts! USA is pleased to confirm and verify the prizes they gave out for the 2020 season. Earlier in the year, the Temecula based company vowed to give back even more to the racers. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the series is proud to have made good on that commitment.

Many have asked what exactly we give back to the drivers and “we’re beyond proud to confirm we gave out nearly $300,000 in cash, prizes, and entry credits,” remarked Tom Kutscher. “It’s one thing to say it, but it’s another thing entirely to do it. In an era where we’re aiming to be more transparent with our racers, we felt it was very important to let people see the prizes we awarded.”

For anyone interested, the full breakdown is here and includes some of the following highlights:

California ProKart Challenge Champions Decided for 2020
Friday, 16 October 2020 08:12

The ProKart Challenge closed out its 16th season with the sixth and final round of 2020. Competitors filled the paddock of the Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Buttonwillow, California for Round Six of the championship chase on September 26-27. The two days of competition around the 3/4-mile circuit gave title contenders the final chance to claim one of the 12 championships on the line.

The largest category of the weekend was the KA100 Senior division, welcoming 33 drivers. All were chasing Nick Ramirez as the 2019 SKUSA Pro Tour vice-champion swept the round. The top-five in qualifying were separated by just under one tenth, as Ramirez came away with quick time. Ramirez went on to lead all 12 laps of the Prefinal to a two-second advantage before he was challenged in the main event. Jake Drew finished second, and jumped out to the lead in the Final. The two went back and forth in the final few laps of the 22-lap feature, with Ramirez winning the race to the checkered flag. Michael Michoff completed the podium while Joey Brienza finished fourth and Kyle Hayner fifth. Championship leader Trey Brown recorded a difficult 20th place finish, but in the end recorded enough points to secure the title over Michoff and Jacob Yesnick.

SUPERKARTS! USA FORCED TO CANCEL PLANS FOR A SUPERNATIONALS REPLACEMENT RACE AMID INSURMOUNTABLE CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS
Sunday, 04 October 2020 21:24
It’s with heavy hearts that the Kutscher family and Superkarts! USA must announce that there will be no replacement event for SuperNationals 24 this year.

“My team has been working tirelessly, pursuing multiple venues and trying to acquire the necessary permits and approval to host an event in a different location that would still be comparable to a 2020 SuperNationals in Las Vegas,” explained SKUSA owner Tom Kutscher. “In the end, with the fluctuating COVID restrictions and guidelines, it is just impossible to hold an event that would do SKUSA, its teams and competitors, and its world-wide base of loyal supporters justice.”

“Regrettably, all options have now been exhausted, and given the timeframe, budget constraints, and uncertainty surrounding the approach of the winter season, SKUSA is not willing to risk another shutdown, or worse yet – risk contributing to the spread of this inexplicable disease.”

In light of this sad news, SKUSA will recharge and regroup for a strong 2021 – with plans to begin the new racing season in Miami, Florida with the SKUSA Winter Series. In the interim, the SKUSA team will be hosting the 2020 IKF Sprint GrandNationals on October 23-25 at the Santa Maria Karting Association in Santa Maria, CA. For more information on this event, go to ikfkarting.com. Depositing and withdrawing funds at the mostbet betting company, especially for residents of India, is possible in different ways – from bank cards to electronic wallets. To carry out the operation, clients can use the official website, mobile version, or application for smartphones. Otherwise, be sure to keep an eye on the SKUSA website and Facebook for more details as they develop for the 2021 racing season.

Please stay safe during these challenging times,

Tom Kutscher

The 16th season for the ProKart Challenge is set to conclude this weekend at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park. The 2020 championship chase began at the Buttonwillow, California facility at the end of February, before COVID-19 sent the series, the entire country, and the world into what has been a unique and very challenging year. The series finale is scheduled for September 26-27, contesting the 3/4-mile course in the counter-clockwise direction.

The two-day event allows for move-in beginning Friday, September 25. On-track action begins on Saturday, September 26 with five rounds of practice before qualifying wraps up the day for the eight race groups. Sunday, September 27 begins with warm-ups preamble the Prefinal and Finals to be contested and decide the 2020 ProKart Challenge champions.

Billy Musgrave has a chance to lock up another PKC championship in Pro Shifter. Musgrave leads by 160 points over Robert Heck Jr. going into the finale, and is looking to earn his seventh title in eight years for the headline shifterkart category. Three wins and two runner-up finishes have Vicente Salas locking up the Pro Shifter 2 title before the final round. Kailey Meris will attempt to extend her win streak to six in the S5 Junior Stock Moto division. Meris has swept the action on-track except for one qualifying session in the five rounds, locking up the series championship early. The fight in Shifter Senior is close, as four-time winner Jacob Yesnick has a 30-point advantage over Round Three winner Luca Bortone going into the championship finale.
