A second straight victory for Arias Deukmedjian in X30 Senior (Photo: EKN)

The 2021 Superkarts! USA Winter Series finale weekend is underway with Round Three of the racing action completed on Saturday, February 13 at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires. Half of the winter championship was completed in January with the second half taking part this weekend in Homestead, Florida. For some, it was a chance to secure a position in the championship chase, for others it has been an opportunity to build for the upcoming summer season. Shinning on the day was KartSport North America / Kart Republic driver Arias Deukmedjian continuing on what he did in Round Two with a double victory today.

Deukmedjian’s first victory on the day came in the Haase Karts KA100 Senior division. Qualifying was the only blemish on his scorecard for the day, missing out on fast time by 17 thousandths with point leader Hannah Greenemeier (RPG / Kosmic) setting the quick lap. Deukmedjian took over the lead on lap 2 of the Prefinal and led to the red flag with two laps remaining. The main event was also cut short by five laps, but Arias led the entire distance until the red flag came out for an incident toward the tail end of the field. Deukmedjian was able to get away to a solid lead early as they battle for the second spot behind him. When the full course caution and red flag came out, Round One winner Brandon Lemke (FMS / Merlin) was in the runner-up spot ahead of Nolan Allison (RPG / Kosmic) and Greenemeier. Aiden Levy (Tony Kart) completed the top-five in the final results.

The 2021 Superkarts! USA Winter Series program will close out this weekend – February 12-14 – at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires. Rounds Three and Four of the ‘best of three’ championship program will be contested on Saturday and Sunday in Homestead, Florida to decide this year’s titles. After a near 200 entry total in January, 170 entries are committed to the finale in the nine categories taking on the 7/10-mile course in the counter-clockwise direction.

Wednesday and Thursday were unofficial practice with Friday hosting five official sessions for testing. Round Three is set for Saturday, including qualifying, Prefinal and Final. Round Four is a repeat format on Sunday. When the dust settles, drivers will take the best three of four rounds to decide the 2021 SKUSA Winter Series champions. Read full story on eKartingNews.com

SKUSA Pushes Back New X30 Pipe And System Upgrades Until SpringNationals Event In Utah, Due To Covid-19 Delays
Tuesday, 02 February 2021 22:08
Due to extremely congested shipping ports and COVID-19 logistics, IAME USA have experienced unforeseen delays in shipments. This in turn means the inability to procure new engines and exhaust systems in a timely fashion, as outlined in the previous update memorandum. SuperKarts! USA have confirmed they will delay the introduction of new systems in their events until the SKUSA ProTour SpringNationals in Utah.

While incoming shipments are expected in the next couple of weeks, the best laid plans cannot overcome the chaos caused by this ongoing pandemic. In order for teams and customers to have sufficient time for preparation, SKUSA have opted to delay the introduction in their sanctioned competition. The new roller-type main bearings will still be approved for use at the first SKUSA event in New Orleans. Teams and drivers who are preparing their current equipment early will not have to re-do them. We thank our racers for their ongoing patience and understanding during these extremely difficult times.

Official Statement From IAME USA Regarding 2021 Updates To New X30 Pipe And X30 Configuration
Monday, 18 January 2021 12:54
As many may remember, with the reconfiguration of the IAME distribution in North America in 2014, we put forth a commitment to freeze the engine configuration for seven years. This coming 2021 racing season will be our seventh year (*after a one-year grace period for COVID-19.) We have listened to our engine builders and customers and will be offering the following changes moving forward in 2021. This introduction also comes in connection with the struggle to get these older models during COVID-19.

Before implementing these changes moving forward we want to remind everyone of the impetus for any such changes. As we pledged in 2014, reliability and customer satisfaction remain our guiding principles here at IAME USA. Any new ideas are in the interest of those two facets, and as always — the motivation for introducing any such change is always parity and value for the racer.
