The 2017 Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix brought the Superkarts! USA to the city streets once again. The final round of the California ProKart Challenge is held at the Lancaster, California racing festival contested over two-days. It was record numbers for the event overall, welcoming 193 entries on the weekend with drivers coming from New Zealand, Canada and throughout the United States. Kiwi and two-time winner Matt Hamilton was plastered all over the city on the event’s posters, podium and advertising material. Next year, they will see the Cambrian Go-Karts Sodi Kart of Nic LeDuc.

The S1 Pro/S2 Semi-Pro Stock Honda division was one of two headline categories, contesting a full day of action. Billy Musgrave (Aluminos) took the top honors in qualifying, edging out Hamilton (Aluminos) by 74 thousandths. Hamilton got the edge in the opening heat, with LeDuc following through to second. The second heat race, LeDuc came out the winner with Hamilton and Musgrave trailing. That was the winning move of the event, as the group contested their main event under the lights Saturday evening. LeDuc was able to grab the holeshot from the pole position and lead the entire 20-lap distance for his first SOLGP victory. Musgrave finished second with Hamilton rounding out the podium. Brian Keck (CRG) drove to fourth with veteran Ron White (CRG) holding off a pack of drivers for fifth. Read full story on eKartingNews.com

The 2017 season is reaching the final stretch as the calendar readies for a turn over to October. That signals the return to the city streets for the California ProKart Challenge as the annual Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix hosts the final round of the 2017 championship. Since 2012, the city of Lancaster has welcomed the Superkarts! USA flagship program and its many racers from around the world to take part in what has now become the largest street race in western North America.

The southern California city of Lancaster hosts a three-day festival – September 29-October 1 – centered around the street race, providing charity and local celebrities a chance to get behind the wheel of concession karts on the very same circuit hundreds of karters will compete on. The California PKC competitors contest Round Six of the championship program over a special Saturday/Sunday format for the majority of the categories. New last year, the S1/S2 and X30 Senior main events were moved to Saturday night under the lights, contested between the charity and celebrity main events, in front of large crowds surrounding the BLVD district.

Hurricane Harvey Fundraiser Set for Dallas Karting Complex This Weekend
Wednesday, 13 September 2017 15:50

Dallas Karting Complex is set to host a 'Texas Strong' fundraiser event this weekend

The United States has been hit over the past few weeks by a number of weather related disasters. The first was Hurricane Harvey, which reached the Texas ocean shores along the Gulf of Mexico on August 25. The amount of rain brought on by the storm caused massive flooding for the Houston area and the city continues to bounce back during what is expected to be a long cleanup and rebuilding process.

Dallas Karting Complex, nearly 300 miles north of the Houston, is doing its part to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. A FREE, two-day karting event will be held on September 16-17 to help raise funds with all proceeds going towards ‘Texas Strong’ relief effort. All entries are free along with spectators, with registration providing the opportunity to donate to the ‘Texas Strong’ relief effort through MotorsportsReg.com. At-track registration/donation will also be permitted.
