The 2015 Superkarts! USA SuperNationals will mark the fourth occasion during the 19-year history of the event of a location change. The first move came in 2002 when the event left the XPLEX for the Rio Hotel & Casino, leaving the home track where the event laid its roots in the sport during its first five years. After two years at the Rio, which took the annual shifterkart festival to the next level, the event moved east to the home of the ‘UNLV Rebels’ and the Sam Boyd Stadium parking lot, running four races at that unique venue. In 2008, Superkarts! USA was under the control of the Kutscher family, and Tom and Patti put in the groundwork to return to the Rio – setting up a seven-year run that attracted some of the biggest drivers in motorsports and featured some of the most exciting races in SuperNationals history. A new chapter will begin this November 18-22 as roughly 500 competitors from around the world will converge on the Las Vegas Convention Center for the SKUSA Fikse Wheels Pro Tour finale event.

The countdown continues to this year’s Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XIX, as the massive event is set to make its debut at the Las Vegas Convention Center on November 18-22. Less than three weeks remain before karts hit the track for the final round of the 2015 Fikse Wheels Pro Tour, on a soon-to-be-released layout at the new location. As expected, anticipation grows day-by-day to see who will score the prestigious SuperNats victories and, of course, the national championship crowns. Competitors have been planning for this event for weeks and months, all for a chance to race in the main events on SuperSunday. There’s no arguing the fact that the ‘SuperNationals IS Vegas’ – as the race continues to make history, serving as the largest karting event in the world. More than 475 drivers are registered to compete at the new venue alongside the Las Vegas Strip as of the date of this release – with 500+ total entries expected. Pre-registration will close this Sunday evening, November 1, at midnight Pacific time. The karting community will then have an idea of the incredible cast of drivers who will highlight each of the nine classes. If you have not yet pre-registered, you should do so immediately.

In just over a month, the buzz of screaming engines and the smell of burnt rubber and race fuel will fill the air over the Las Vegas Strip as the 19th annual Superkarts! USA SuperNationals begins. The 2015 edition of the largest karting event in the world dawns on a new location, the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. With the new site comes an all-new track design and paddock layout, as karts are set to hit the track on November 18 – with SuperSunday main events scheduled for November 22.
“This year’s SuperNationals is going to be a memorable event,” stated Superkarts! USA CEO Tom Kutscher. “So far, our first year at the new location of the Las Vegas Convention Center is going well with all the pre-event planning and excitement. Talking with racers, there is a sense of anticipation, as this will be all brand new for the competitors that have been coming to the SuperNationals. The drivers will now have a completely level playing field, with no one having previous experience or knowledge of set-up, gearing and just the feeling of the track. Competitors are going to have to be on their game when the track opens up for practice Wednesday morning – even more this year than before.”
The driver count has exceeded the 400 mark, and continues to increase daily – with less than 18 days until SKUSA’s online race registration deadline of midnight PDT on Sunday, November 1 at skusastore.com. This is also the date for drivers to secure the other items they need to complete their registration, like memberships, transponder rentals, and practice tires. TaG Cadet is on the verge of selling out, with TaG Senior less than 10 spots from also hitting its max entry count of 88 drivers.
Today, October 13, also marks the deadline for the special room rates at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, which will expire at midnight. The facility has been completely remodeled with modern-design rooms and plenty of dining options throughout the resort. Three room options are available for competitors: Premium at $70/night, Signature for $90/night, and Concierge rooms for $135/night. Visit the following LINK or call 1-888-732-7117 with the referral code SSPK5R – group name SuperNats – to secure your rooms.
SKUSA is also encouraging teams and competitors to submit their pit spot requests immediately, if they have not done so already, as well as to prepare and submit their orders for practice tires. This year’s Event Schedule is very similar to the 2014 edition, and is available at the SKUSA website. All categories will receive seven rounds of practice at seven minutes, with qualifying the final session for all classes on Thursday. The seven-minute timed session lines up the categories for the three heat races. Heat #1 will open the on-track action on Friday, followed by Heat #2. Heat #3 for all classes and the Last Chance Qualifiers for the five classes that require it (TaG Junior, S2, S4, TaG Cadet, and TaG Senior) will fill the day on Saturday. SuperSunday’s Main Events will begin at 10:30 am following the morning warm-ups and opening ceremonies.
Ground transportation up and down the Las Vegas Strip has never been easier thanks to the Las Vegas Monorail. An exclusive discount is available for SuperNationals attendees when they purchase a 3-day Unlimited Ride Pass – these customers can receive an additional day for just $5. Competitors can order their tickets at the following LINK to be ready to enjoy all that Las Vegas has to offer. This webpage also has a special offer on airport transportation, courtesy of LASexpress.
Once again, the SKUSA SuperNationals serves as the final round of the Fikse Wheels Pro Tour program. Following the successful and exciting racing at the SpringNationals in Phoenix and the return of SKUSA competition to Indiana with the SummerNationals, the eight series championships will be decided in Las Vegas. A complete list of Fikse Wheels Pro Tour and SuperNationals prize packages will be announced in the coming weeks.
Throughout the year at the Fikse Wheels Pro Tour, Superkarts! USA has provided unprecedented television coverage on CBS Sport Network and available on-demand through MotorTrendOnDemand.com thanks to Torque.TV. Three new shows are scheduled to include the action from SuperNationals XIX, with more details on the broadcast times following the event. eKartingNews.com, the official media partner of Superkarts! USA, will be streaming the live audio play-by-play once again. Competitors family and friends, and motorsport junkies can tune into the EKN Trackside Live program at ekartingnews.com/live from qualifying on Thursday until the main events on SuperSunday. |
