SKUSA Pro Tour Releases Information for 2011 Program
Friday, 11 February 2011 15:47
Now that the new season of Superkarts! USA racing is officially underway – thanks to the successful completion of the opening round of the ProKart Challenge South series last weekend – it is with much excitement that the organization releases its plans for the 2011 SKUSA Pro Tour. The official schedule for the second edition of the program was announced in mid-November of last year, but specific components of the series have now been confirmed, such as an increased prize fund, the expansion of the SKUSA ‘Circle of Champions’ support package, and the opening of the online registration for the SpringNationals at http://www.superkartsusa.com . Additional event details, including a tentative event schedule, additional host hotel info and pit spot reservation instructions, will continue to be updated on the company website as those details are finalized.

To confirm the schedule, the SKUSA Pro Tour will kick off with the second annual SKUSA SpringNationals on the April 29-May 1 weekend at the incredible Musselman Honda Circuit (formerly P1 Kart Circuit) in Tucson, Arizona. The second stop on the schedule will be the SummerNationals on July 15-17 at Grand Junction Motor Speedway in Grand Junction, Colorado. The finale will once again be part of the consistently growing and ever-improving SuperNationals at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on November 16-20. Last year, almost 500 drivers participated in the race, and this number is expected to grow even larger in 2011 as a result of the increased support of SKUSA’s core classes.

Dunford and Marks Score Big at ProKart Challenge South Opener
Wednesday, 09 February 2011 09:41
Superkarts! USA got its new season off to a great start on Saturday when their ProKart Challenge South series made its first visit to Adams Motorsports Park in Riverside, CA. The historic facility rolled out the red carpet for the leading southern California racing series – and the result was a day of incredible racing, new winners and a lot of happy drivers. The weather was excellent for the February event, as sunshine and warm weather set the perfect stage. On track, S1 pilot Brad Dunford got the ‘gorilla’ off his back in winning his first main event, continuing his rise to the upper echelon of the sport, while Master pilot Robert Marks topped a stacked S4 field to begin the championship chase. Other winners included Race Liberante (S2), Sebastian Scaglia (S3), Micah Hendricks (S5), Howie Idelson (G1), Travis Lowe (TaG Senior), Paul Bonilla (TaG Master) Austin Dement (TaG Junior) and Jake Drew (TaG Cadet).

There is no doubt in anyone’s minds that Adams is a ‘driver’s track’ – and the challenge that was put before the SKUSA competitors was approached with excitement and respect. While there was talk from a small group of racers about the facility’s viability for a PKC event, the end result was an impressive display of racecraft that left those in attendance with a newfound respect for the track and their fellow competitors. It was truly a promoter’s dream, with incredible wheel-to-wheel racing and not a red flag all day.

PKC South Readies For 2011 Opener At Adams Motorsports Park
Tuesday, 18 January 2011 08:36
Southern California is the birthplace of karting, and the Adams Motorsports Park is a huge part of its long and storied history. Superkarts! USA will add the Riverside, California facility to its own heritage when the ProKart Challenge South program makes its debut at the track on February 4-5 to open up the 2011 season. SKUSA is focused on starting their PKC South program off with a bang, and they are looking forward to once again seeing all the top-notch SoCal competitors who were highlighted last November in Las Vegas.  With a new bonus of 100 extra points at the end of the season for any driver who runs all six races, a packed paddock is a virtual guarantee for the opener. Considering how tight all of the point races were last year, no one should chance starting off behind the eight ball.

The SKUSA organization has been hard at work for the past two months following the 2010 finale, the record-breaking SKUSA SuperNationals XIV that was held outside the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The new season brings a number of challenges, including the seventh season of the ProKart Challenge South, a new-look ProKart Challenge North schedule, the expected development of new regions around the country, and the promotion of the second SKUSA Pro Tour. At the core, the SKUSA mandate is to provide the best service and events possible for racers. One way to reward those racers who continue their involvement with the PKC South program is awarding the 100 bonus points to those competitors who participate in all six series events.

ProKart Challenge Programs Announce Discounted Entry Package
Thursday, 06 January 2011 10:03
As we enter the new year, the Superkarts! USA staff is back at work and gearing up for the 2011 season, one that will certainly be the biggest in the organization’s history. SKUSA is focused on building off a solid 2010 campaign, and will once again promote official competition on both the regional and national level. Interest is huge – thanks to the massive success of the 14th annual SuperNationals in Las Vegas – and big increases in support and participation are expected in both the ProKart Challenge series and the second running of the SKUSA Pro Tour. One of the primary goals for 2011 is to make the PKC program the best value in California.

The organization is vocal in its dedication to providing the best karting experience in California through their ProKart Challenge North and South programs, and a significant decrease in the entry fee package is the primary promotion. The schedules will be very exciting this year, taking the PKC competitors to a number of tracks that have not been part of the series in the past. The PKC South and PKC North calendars will feature six races, each of which includes the popular West Coast Shootout at Santa Maria in late August. The PKC North program will venture away from Infineon Raceway for the first time to visit cornerstone NorCal tracks like Dixon, Prairie City, Reno and Atwater, as well as a venue in Monterey. The South circuit will follow suit, making its debut at Adams Raceway in Riverside, while also heading back to Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Buttonwillow Raceway and both the Streets of Willow and purpose-built kart track at Willow Springs.
