2025 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour on the Horizon |
Wednesday, 19 February 2025 14:47 |
Fresh off a record setting campaign in Florida, the Superkarts! USA organization is turning its focus on the 2025 SKUSA Pro Tour. Set for its 16th straight season, the championship will again be comprised of three events to crown this year’s title winners. The highest entry numbers ever at the 2025 SKUSA Winter Series could forecast a big year for the SKUSA Pro Tour. The class structure for the 2025 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour remains unchanged, including the two Pro classes of Pro Shifter and Pro X30. The change from last year will be the return of Pro X30 to contest two rounds of racing each weekend alongside the Semi-Pro classes. Drivers competing in Pro X30 will also be allowed to compete in the KA100 Senior class, as there are no longer any restrictions placed on Senior drivers competing in both divisions on the same weekend. Pro Shifter will continue with one round per weekend, including qualifying, two heats on Saturday, and now with a Prefinal and Final on Sunday. The largest prize package ever for the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour was introduced in 2024 and will continue for the upcoming 2025 season, reaching a total of $310,000. The Pro Shifter podium on Sunday each weekend totals $8,500 – with $5,000 to the winner. The top three in Pro X30 for all six main events in 2025 will be racing for $4,250 in total, with the winner earning $2,500 for each victory. The overall total for the 2025 weekend payout for the Pro categories is $51,000. The top 10 in each Pro category for the year-end SKUSA Pro Tour championship standings will be awarded cash and prizes. Each division will be awarded a purse over $65,000, with the two champions receiving a $10,000 check, the SKUSA Circle of Champions prize package for 2026, and a full entry package to SKUSA SuperNationals 28. The entire top 10 for both Pro classes take home cash and full entry into the 2026 SKUSA Pro Tour program. The Semi-Pro division prize package remains the same for the 2025 season. Each weekend the categories have the ability to race for a $3,500 purse – with the winner each round earning $1,000. The year-end prize package for the seven Semi-Pro classes totals $45,000 for the top three finishers in each division. All champions receive the 2026 SKUSA Circle of Champions program along with full entry into the SKUSA SuperNationals 28. Each runner-up earns full entry into the SuperNationals for 2025, with $500 in registration credit going to the third-place finisher in each championship. A complete breakdown of the 2025 SKUSA Pro Tour prize package can be found on the Superkarts! USA website. The Superkarts! USA Pro Tour returns to the Lone Star State for the first time since 2014, as this year’s SKUSA WinterNationals heads to the Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney, Texas. Scheduled for March 28-30, the opening two rounds of the 2025 championship will take part on the circuit designed and owned by SKUSA Hall of Fame member Alan Rudolph. Speedsportz has hosted many events since opening in 2017, including the SKUSA regional program Texas Sprint Racing Series. Their 2025 season opener is set for Speedsportz this coming weekend. A return to the Buckeye State looms for the 2025 edition of the SKUSA SpringNationals. The Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati hosts the middle two rounds of the SKUSA Pro Tour over the Memorial Day weekend of May 23-25. The Bayliff family and its partners have already begun construction on modifications to the Batavia, Ohio facility, making safety adjustments before opening up for the 2025 season. Since 2015, the SKUSA Pro Tour SummerNationals have been at New Castle Motorsports Park. The New Castle, Indiana facility is set to host the series finale for the 11th straight time, scheduled on the July 25-27 weekend. As the unofficial hub of karting in North America, the NCMP circuit will once again see the final two rounds of the 2025 SKUSA Pro Tour deciding this year’s champions. Registration for the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour WinterNationals is set to open on February 26th at 9pm Eastern / 6pm Pacific time. 2025 Superkarts!
