Team News: Evolution Karting
Monday, 01 December 2008 21:12
Evolution Karting completed its first year of competition with a strong showing at the 2008 SKUSA SuperNationals sponsored by the National Guard. The team travelled 2000 miles to compete in the most prestigious kart race in the United States and placed two drivers in the top ten in the final results. Jason Lee earned a 6th place finish on his SwedeTech powered Maxter CRG. Tim Hollowell finished 7th in the S-1 category on his Evolution Karting CRG.

Lee found out that qualifying is ultra important at the SuperNats as a flat tire in qualifying put him 24th on the grid for all 3 heats in the G-1 class. Undaunted and super aggressive on the starts as always, Jason moved up in every heat and improved his starting position to 14th for the final. With another strong start and aggressive overtaking Lee drove his SwedeTech CRG Maxter to a sixth place finish, one away from a podium in his first SuperNationals.   Read Full Story on EKN.

Team News: CRG
Monday, 01 December 2008 21:11
Thanks to its growing presence in America, CRG enjoyed great visibility at the final of the 12th “SKUSA SuperNationals”, held on the huge parking area of the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas. “This race is a major event in North America”, said one of CRG team members, who was on the spot. “In addition to the “American style show” and a very professional organization, the level of the meeting was very high. For us, racing in Las Vegas has been a very exciting challenge”. The Super Pro, i.e. the top category of the meeting, saw intense competition between American drivers and some of the best European ones. The race started under the best auspices for CRG, when Jonathan Thonon conquered the pole position. Recent winner of the World Cup and European Champion, he kept his momentum in the qualifying phase. “I won two out of three heats” the Belgian driver said, “but I had a problem at the start of one heat, so I was fifth on the starting grid of the final”. Despite this handicap, Thonon doubled all his opponents and won with an advantage of more than two seconds. “This non-permanent circuit lacked grip, but our chassis adjusted itself perfectly to the conditions and the tyres we found here in Vegas”.  Read Full Story on EKN.

Team News: FX Racing
Monday, 01 December 2008 21:10
The FX Racing crew was in Las Vegas this past weekend. Yes, Las Vegas, the land of wild bachelor party trips and wilder weddings, the land of Paris, New York and Egypt all on the same street. Vegas. But the team didn’t pack up and hit the road because we had an overwhelming urge to see some of our favorite impersonator acts or confirm if you really can get a steak at 2AM. No, we were lured not by showgirls but by some of the best kart racing to be found anywhere – but the SuperNationals.

The annual extravaganza put on by the Superkarts! USA folks has been a highlight of the karting world for 12 years and counting. With the confirmation of CIK certification for the tracks the past two years, SuperNats has gone global, bringing the best of Europe to come play with the home-grown stars. In another boost to an already great event, SuperNats XII brought the field of battle back to the Rio Hotel and Casino.  Read Full Story on EKN.

Team News: Syar Motorsport Energy
Monday, 01 December 2008 21:09
The Syar Motorsport Factory ENERGY Racing Team went into this year’s SKUSA SuperNationals XII with a 'Go Big or Go Home' strategy and as the 'Vegas Luck' would have it at the end of Sundays finals- the ENERGY karts were only able to cash in on one Category, S3 Stock Honda Light.

However- the ENERGY USA team did run consistently in the in the top 5 in all race categories campaigned - SuperPro, TaG, S1, G1 and S3.

Syar Motorsport Energy SuperPro entrant Tony LAVANANT, factory pilot out of Paris France made a big impression on this Top Level ICC category group with a stellar qualifying position of 4th on the grid of 29.  Read Full Story on EKN.

Team News: High-Rev Engineering Apology to DeGrand Racing and J3 Competition
Monday, 01 December 2008 21:08
This is an official statement from Marc Zartarian of High-Rev Engineering:

Tristan Degrand raced a hard-fought battle in the HPV-2 class at the SKUSA SuperNationals last weekend. J3 Competition provided him with the winning chassis and support. Tristan did a flawless job in driving and won.  Unfortunately, Tristan’s engine did not pass post-race inspection due to the pulse line outlet in the case not meeting dimensional specification.  Tristan’s engine was provided through a lease program and was not altered by J3 or Degrand.

This is a true disappointment for all involved with this situation. We lease engines and provide our services to top-level teams and individuals. They trust our materials to pass all inspections. We pride ourselves on our power output, track support, service and result. In this case, HRE made a mistake and our friends and associates have suffered. Read Full Story on EKN.
