MG Tires Named Title Sponsor of Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XVIII |
Friday, 31 October 2014 10:06 |
The 18th edition of the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals will be underway outside the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in less than 20 days. Over 500 drivers from around the world will converge on Las Vegas, gunning for a place in history as one of the nine winners crowned following the five days of battle and the fight on SuperSunday. All of the competitors will have one thing in common – the tires mounted on their racing steeds. MG Tires has been the official tire of SKUSA since 2005, and continues to show their support for the organization by signing on as the title sponsor of SuperNationals XVIII. “For 10 years now, MG Tires has been a big supporter of the ProKart Challenge and Superkarts! USA. It is great to have a partner that not only supports the sport, but also provides a product that you can count on,” stated Superkarts! USA CEO Tom Kutscher. “The brand is gaining more and more respect around the world, and what better than supporting the biggest karting event of the year. We look forward to this year’s event, and the continued partnership with MG Tires.” Competitors in eight of the classes will be competing on the MG-SK ‘White’ tire, with the TaG Cadet division utilizing the MG-HZ ‘Red’ compound. The MG-WT ‘Wet’ tires will be utilized if rain hits the area during competition. MG Tires has provided immense support and prizes for racers throughout Superkarts! USA, including trips to the famous Granja Viana 500 and many products over the years. “We’re very proud to be part of SKUSA history,” commented Wagner Rossi of MG Tires North America. “We were one of the first tire manufacturer to support SKUSA back in the late 90’s on the SKUSA Winter Tour, and now for the 10th year in a row, we are the official tire supplier for the biggest kart racing on the planet. This opportunity for the MG Tires is by far the best laboratory and test of reliability that any tire manufacturer can get.” KZ2 is the latest class to sell out for this historic event! Pre-entry cutoff to race is this Saturday, November 1 at midnight PDT via skusastore.com. After this deadline, the SKUSA online store will be closed for all entries (and purchases) until at-track registration opens at the Rio on Monday, November 17 at 10am local time. The race entry fees increase to $700 for any drivers utilizing at-track registration, not including tires, fuel or any other extras. The closing of the online store also includes pre-purchases for practice tires. SKUSA will accept pre-orders via email until November 7 at midnight PST – including team orders – with payment to be collected at the track. Fuel will be sold at the track only, so competitors do not need to pre-order. Race numbers are all being confirmed via email, and all drivers are required to hold an annual or event SKUSA membership. SKUSA would also like to make a final call for Pit Spot reservations. All information can be found on the SuperNationals section of the superkartsusa.com website. As a reminder, this year’s SKUSA SuperNationals event schedule will be very similar to that of previous events, with some slight improvements, as all on-track activities are scheduled to be completed around the 6pm time frame each day. Qualifying will be completed as the final session for each group on Thursday, with two rounds of heat races on Friday. Saturday will host round three of all heat races, plus the Last Chance Qualifier for those classes over 44 drivers. SuperSunday’s Main Events will begin at 10:30 am following the morning warm-ups and opening ceremonies. |
