The 10 Most Frequently Asked Questions the Week Before Supernats XII:
Monday, 10 November 2008 22:27
The biggest race in North America is just a week away and our phones and emails have been ringing and dinging non stop for the past several days. Here are several questions that we are commonly asked.

1) Question: Should I have received a Driver Registration Packet in the mail, or will it be available at the track?

Answer: All info and paperwork that a driver needs for the race will be provided upon check-in. The only things that we have mailed are the SKUSA new annual member packets.

2) Question: My friend forgot to pre-register to race, and now the shopping kart is closed! What should he do?
Answer: Well, your friend is probably in luck. If he wants to race, we still have a few spots available in most classes. The only classes that are totally full are S3 and TaG Jr. He should call the office at 951-491-0808 right away to hold the spot, then get there as early as possible to get registered. We open Registration at Noon on Tuesday, Nov. 18th.

3) Can I get a list of the entries for Supernats XII?
Answer: We are going to hold you in suspense and wait until EKN (www.ekartingnews.com) previews the race next week. The driver list (minus a few last minute changes) will also be published in the Event Program, which will be available at the track.

4) Question: What do I do about a pit spot?
Answer: We are still trying to get more pit space from the Rio, to make sure that we have sufficient pit spaces for everyone. Most teams have already reserved space, and we will be contacting them for payment as soon as we can finalize the pit map and tell them exactly where they will be pitted. For everyone else that has not reserved a pit spot, please make sure that we have a detailed drawing with dimensions of your required space – showing trailers and tents – along with the drivers in your pit and your contact info. Fax that ASAP to 951-491-0809 or email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please also re-fax a new drawing immediately if your pit requirements have changed since you sent in your pit request.

5) Question: Where can I find more specifics about the TaG rules?
Answer: Additional rules have been posted under the COMPETITION RULES section of the website under Tag Engine Specs. Additional questions can be emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

6) Question: I forgot to order a pit pass for my mechanic/family member. Can we get those when we arrive?
Answer: Yes. All pit passes for crew members and spectators will be available for purchase throughout the event. We will also be selling practice tires, although we recommend that you call the office immediately: 951-491-0808 to be put on the list, so that a sufficient supply can be brought to the track.

7) Question: How do I order fuel/oil for the race, and will it be available in cans or pumped off of the truck?
Answer: We will be selling all spec fuel/oil at the track at current market prices; we were waiting for the pricing to reach a more acceptable level. The fuel will be pumped off of the VP truck during the event (per the posted schedule), and the Motul oil will be sold in 1 liter bottles. All racers will need to bring a fuel jug for mixing and for storage in the fuel barn. We will have a few fuel jugs on hand for sale, but not many. The fire marshall does not want other fuel brought in, and no fuel can be kept in the pits, so plan accordingly. Everything will need to be checked in and out of the fuel farm.

8) Question: What colors do I have to run on my number plates?
Answer: We are not mandating plate color combinations for Supernats XII. Just be sure that the colors you use for your number and background contrast, so that they can be seen clearly, and be sure to use your letter designator if you were assigned one with your number.

9) Question: Do I need to have a SKUSA patch on my suit?
Answer: No. We normally only provide them to annual SKUSA members, anyway, so they are not mandatory for this race. We will, however, have mandatory stickers for the karts, and will be providing those, along with a sticker diagram, at check-in.

10) Question: I cannot make the race this year, but I would love to purchase some event merchandise. How can I get that?
Answer: We will have a variety of SWAG items – hats, shirts, ladies tank tops, posters and programs – available for sale at the track. Have a friend pick something up for you, if possible. We will try to sell leftover items on the website after the event.
