At the most recent Pro Tour event in Utah, a large majority of karts were found with kart numbers where the height of the number was non-compliant. Starting at the next Pro Tour event in New Castle, we will be strictly enforcing the following revised rules:
-
Micro and Mini Swift - 5" minimum height
-
All other classes - 5.9" minimum height
Warnings will be issued during Friday Practice, and any numbers found to be non-compliant on race day shall result in a procedural penalty. Please inspect your equipment for compliance. The revised rule is below.
301.3 Panel Numbers & Colors: Numbers shall be black on a yellow background, at least 15 cm (5.9” // minimum 5” for Micro/Mini Swift) tall and have a 2 cm (.787”) wide stroke represented with an Arial font. No shaded or outlined numbers are allowed. The competition number shall be bordered by a yellow background of 1 cm (.393”) minimum. They must be in place prior to any official session, on both front and rear panels, as well as on both sides towards the rear of the bodywork. The driver is responsible for ensuring that the required numbers are always clearly visible to timekeepers and officials.
