A second straight victory for Arias Deukmedjian in X30 Senior (Photo: EKN)
The 2021 Superkarts! USA Winter Series finale weekend is underway with Round Three of the racing action completed on Saturday, February 13 at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires. Half of the winter championship was completed in January with the second half taking part this weekend in Homestead, Florida. For some, it was a chance to secure a position in the championship chase, for others it has been an opportunity to build for the upcoming summer season. Shinning on the day was KartSport North America / Kart Republic driver Arias Deukmedjian continuing on what he did in Round Two with a double victory today.
Deukmedjian’s first victory on the day came in the Haase Karts KA100 Senior division. Qualifying was the only blemish on his scorecard for the day, missing out on fast time by 17 thousandths with point leader Hannah Greenemeier (RPG / Kosmic) setting the quick lap. Deukmedjian took over the lead on lap 2 of the Prefinal and led to the red flag with two laps remaining. The main event was also cut short by five laps, but Arias led the entire distance until the red flag came out for an incident toward the tail end of the field. Deukmedjian was able to get away to a solid lead early as they battle for the second spot behind him. When the full course caution and red flag came out, Round One winner Brandon Lemke (FMS / Merlin) was in the runner-up spot ahead of Nolan Allison (RPG / Kosmic) and Greenemeier. Aiden Levy (Tony Kart) completed the top-five in the final results.

The third and final event of the 2022 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour returns to the New Castle Motorsports Park for the 12th edition of the SKUSA SummerNationals. Rounds Five and Six will be contested on the New Castle, Indiana facility to decide the 13th season of SKUSA Pro Tour champions. The event marks the eighth straight year the SKUSA Pro Tour has visited the New Castle Motorsports Park facility, the first coming in 2015. Each event has been over the 220 mark, including this year’s finale with 222 pre-entries set to do battle in eight categories.
Built in 2003, the New Castle Motorsports Park has been the hub of national and international karting during its first season in 2004. The multi-configuration facility has provided SKUSA with different layouts over the eight years, including the National Reverse layout that will be utilized this weekend. It is the same layout selected for the second weekend of the SKUSA Summer Festival in 2020, where three rounds of racing were held that weekend. It measures out to 1-mile with 16 different turns, and the finish line set to the original location when the facility first opened, right in front of the main building and grand stands. As SKUSA inches closer to SuperNationals 26 and their return to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, they are pleased to confirm a continuation of the popular
ASPEN ‘Green 4 Green’ initiative, in concert with ASPEN Racing Fuels. The program sees the rewarding of cash to participating drivers of the SuperNationals, with the eligibility as follows:
-
There will be (3) winners randomly chosen at the ‘Super Sunday’ opening ceremonies. Each winner will receive $2,000 USD in cash.
-
The winners must be present at the Sunday ceremonies, even if they’re not racing (E.g. if they didn’t make it past the LCQ).
-
To be eligible for the prize, you must be wearing an ASPEN tee shirt. SKUSA will have a supply of free tee-shirts at the registration desk, but racers are encouraged to bring theirs from home, as supplies will be limited.
“This is amazing,” remarked an enthusiastic SKUSA principal Tom Kutscher. “ASPEN continues to give back to the karting community, time and time again. It’s no secret racing is expensive and every little bit we can return to the drivers excites me. Having a partner like ASPEN who not only has a terrific product, but also a shared enthusiasm for this kind of promotion is a tremendous success.”
