EKN Exclusive: Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 27 – Preview Series – Pro X30
Sunday, 10 November 2024 15:30

20 years of the headline single-speed category at the SKUSA SuperNationals, and 20 different winners. The Pro X30 class began as TaG Senior in 2003 and eventually transitioned to X30 Senior when SKUSA made the move to an all-IAME platform. Despite the many years of SuperNats history , and the over 1,500 in entries who have competed at the event during that time, 20 drivers have etched their names in the history books as winners on SuperSunday.

This year’s field is at 61 drivers, including defending champion Donovan Bonilla (Rolison Performance Group). The driver from Mexico finished third at the SKUSA Winter Series with a win – his only of the season – as he went podium-less at the SKUSA Pro Tour. It was a similar season in 2023, when he traveled to Vegas and left SuperSunday as the winner. Read full story at eKartingNews.com

EKN Exclusive: Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 27 – Preview Series – KA100 Senior
Friday, 08 November 2024 11:56

SKUSA SuperNationals 27 is the sixth edition for KA100 Senior at the event, which made its debut in 2018. The class quickly expanded to reach a massive total entry of 93 in 2021. This year’s field surpasses that benchmark by one with 94 pre-registered drivers. The overall event record is 95 for TaG Senior in 2008 as this year’s KA100 Senior total matches the 2017 total for X30 Senior for second largest field ever at the SuperNationals. Defending KA100 Senior champion Ernesto Rivera has been racing cars in Europe throughout the 2024 season and, as a new Red Bull Junior driver, and will not return to the SuperNationals this year.

Six of the top-10 from last year are returning, including three podium finishers. The top returning driver from 2023 is also one of four former SuperNationals winners in the field. Pauly Massimino (BJR/MDR) won the category in 2019 and finished third a year ago. Massimino won in United States Pro Kart Series competition and was the IAME USA Grand National Championship Shootout in KA after spending much of the season focused on X30 and OK-N. The North Carolina driver won the Stars Championship Series title in OK-N. Fellow SuperNationals winner Brandon Lemke (BJR/MDR) has been on the podium in his last three starts. He was the provisional winner in 2019 before a pushback bumper penalty dropped him to fifth. Redemption was his in 2021 when he secured that elusive victory before finishing fourth last year. EKN Exclusive: Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 27 – Preview Series – Master Shifter
Friday, 08 November 2024 09:02

Shifterkart racing has always been the foundation of Superkarts! USA and the Master Shifter class has been part of the SuperNationals dating back to the year 2000. The engine type has changed over the course of the 24 years of Master Shifter racing in SKUSA, with today’s focus centered on the KZ platform. Entry numbers have grown since the transition to match the international gearbox formula and now the category is welcoming the largest field at the SuperNationals since 2015.

Fifty drivers will battle at SuperNationals 27, including defending champion Davide Fore (Italkart Factory Racing Team). The four-time world karting champion and two-time shifterkart world title winner returns to attempt at becoming the fourth driver to claim back-to-back victories at the SuperNationals in Master Shifter competition – joining Darren Elliott, Jeff Littrell, and Bonnier Moulton. EKN Exclusive: Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 27 – Preview Series – KA100 Master
Wednesday, 06 November 2024 16:32

Introduced to the SKUSA SuperNationals in 2022, the KA100 Master category has secured a third straight year of selling out, this time reaching a record-setting 51-driver mark as of registration closing on October 28. Single-speed ‘expert’ competition has been at the SuperNationals since 2003, with X30 Master / TaG Master running until 2022 with sold out fields year after year. Now the focus is around the KA100 platform and the competition level is still at its best.

The last two winners in KA100 Master at the SuperNationals are in this year’s field. Defending winner Matthew Waters (Rolison Performance Group) caught the paddock by surprise, coming in for his first trip to Vegas to claim the victory. The 34-year-old from Australia returns for a chance to become the first repeat winner in the category. On the other side, Martin Stone (Rolison Performance Group) is seeking a second win in three years after claiming the inaugural victory in 2022. The Texan finished 10th a year ago, and is now racing under the same tent as Waters with RPG. Read full story on eKartingNews.com

ROK Cup USA and Superkarts! USA Expand Collaboration into 2025
Tuesday, 05 November 2024 14:20

ROK Cup USA and Superkarts! USA will open up the season with two back-to-back events at the Orlando Kart Center in January and February

ROK Cup USA and Superkarts! USA entered a working relationship at the beginning of the 2024 season. The two karting organizations scheduled and hosted back-to-back events in January and February in Homestead and followed up with back-to-back weekends in Orlando for March. The association will continue this synergy for the 2025 season with the first three months of the year featuring back-to-back events.

The first month of 2025 will features the openers of both the Superkarts! USA Winter Series and the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour at the Orlando Kart Center in Orlando, Florida. Both programs return to the Orlando, Florida facility in February for their second stops.

“We are excited to continue this partnership with SKUSA heading into the 2025 season,” stated Michael Burrell of ROK Cup USA. “Our 2024 Florida Winter Tour welcomed an increase in entries over the three events from year’s past. The response from the competitors and teams was positive, receiving feedback from them saving over 30% in costs versus the previous year. We felt it was crucial to continue working together with SKUSA moving forward. It is a great example of what can happen when promoters work together for the common good of karting. Thank you to the staff at SKUSA for their continued cooperation.”

The 2025 relationship will expand outside the state of Florida. The series finale for the ROK Cup USA Florida Winter Tour will be held at Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney, Texas in late March. The following weekend, Superkarts! USA will kick-off the 2025 edition of the SKUSA Pro Tour WinterNationals at the Speedsportz facility for the first time in series history.
