Statement From SuperKarts! USA Regarding Saturday’s X30 Sr Race In Tooele, Utah
Tuesday, 28 June 2022 08:38
Following the X30 Senior Final on Saturday June 11th, SKUSA wants to reassure our customers that the incidents that took place at the end of the race - on and off the track - are not acceptable nor will be tolerated at any SKUSA event. SuperKarts! USA is taking these situations tremendously serious.

SKUSA has taken preliminary actions on both incidents, resulting in a driver and a team principle being suspended from all SKUSA or SKUSA - sanctioned events until a full investigation is completed and our disciplinary committee comes to an agreement.

We want to assure our participants that safety is our top priority. These individuals are in violation of the SKUSA Rulebook:

Section 108 DISCIPLINARY ACTION; sub paragraph 108.2.3 DANGEROUS: Performing an act or omission that creates an obvious and serious risk to others- with deliberate disregard of the consequences.

We would like to reiterate that any time a participant is involved in breaching SKUSA’s rules of conduct, on or off the track, we will ensure that the proper actions are taken – sternly and swiftly.

Although the public may not see everything that we are doing to handle and prevent these types of incidents from occurring, we are working very hard to keep all of our drivers and; attendees safe and held accountable when participating in our series.

Official Statement of Intent from ROK Cup USA, SKUSA and USPKS
Monday, 20 June 2022 16:00
Starting immediately, the named organizations and their affiliated series will be working together to raise the level of professionalism in the sport of karting in the United States, both on the track and in the paddock.

We will be working together closely to develop a system which honors the disciplinary actions taken by one organization or series, across all named organizations and affiliated series. Our series will no longer be a place for bad behavior, to include, but not limited to both acts and threats of violence. No competitor or attendee should have to worry about their physical safety at karting events in the United States and no longer will these bad actors be able to simply take that behavior to another series.

In just one week, the California ProKart Challenge returns to action and hosts the lone double-round weekend of the season. Competitors from all over the west coast will converge on the CalSpeed Karting Center facility in Fontana, California during the June 24-26 weekend for Rounds Three and Four of the Superkarts! USA regional program. The ‘Sportivo’ layout of 0.656 miles in the clockwise direction will be the selected circuit at one of the most popular venues on the schedule this year. A full day of practice on Friday will be followed by two separate rounds of competition on Saturday and Sunday, taking the championship program into the second half of the season.

Two runner-up finishes have Ethan Lampe at the top of the championship standings in the HRT Driver Development KA100 Senior class. Lampe holds a 200-point advantage over Luis Perez, with Timothy Carel in the third spot. Both races were won by one-round drivers Frankie Mossman and Blake Nash, who are back in 13th and 12th respectively in the standings thus far. Keagan Kaminski has been the most consistent over the opening two rounds in the Nash Motorsportz KA100 Junior class. The 12th edition of the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SpringNationals – presented by ASPEN Fuels USA – was completed on Sunday at the Utah Motorsports Campus. The weather was intensified at the Erda, Utah facility with the temperature increasing, while bringing on strong winds that played havoc on the track and the paddock. The competitors and SKUSA staff powered through, completing the day for the nine categories competing the fourth round of the championship chase for the 2022 season.

For the third time in four rounds, four-time SKUSA Pro Tour champion Ryan Norberg (RPG / Kosmic) won the X30 Senior presented by Speedlab Racing Engines class. Today’s effort was a perfect score on the round to help elevate him to the top of the championship chase. After setting fast time in Qualifying and leading all 10 laps of the Prefinal, Norberg was shuffled down to fourth on the opening circuit with former FIA Karting World Champion Pedro Hiltbrand (PSL / Birel ART) leading. Cameron Weinberg (SCR / CRG) and Paul Bocuse (RPG / Kosmic) were the drivers to jump ahead of Norberg on the opening lap. By the end of lap three, he was back into the lead. Once there, he extended his lead with each lap until the checkered and red flag was waved as Julian DaCosta (RPM / Tony Kart) needed medical attention following an incident. Norberg finished with a five-second advantage, posting a fast lap three tenths quicker than nay other driver. Hiltbrand settled for second, holding off Bocuse with Frankie Mossman (Benik / Tony Kart) up to third. Jeremy Fletcher (RPM / Tony Kart) completed the top-five.
