The opening day of the Superkarts! USA SummerNationals at New Castle Motorsports Park checked all the available boxes for a Pro Tour finale. Perfect weather, no red flags, thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing and a taco truck fiesta for the entire paddock at day’s end.

Check, check, check and check.

You couldn’t ask for much more from a mid-August summer day in Indiana. Nice race groups housing 12 categories took to the track at the popular New Castle Motorsports Park, running the extended ‘SKUSA Super Mile’ layout that leveraged the facility’s full configuration that includes the ‘oval turn’ and the ‘ski jump’. Three-time SKUSA Pro Tour champion Ryan Norberg took a major step towards securing an unprecedented fourth-straight X30 Senior title, as the Rolison Performance Group leader drive took an impressive win over Croc Promotion USA / Musgrave Racing Company’s Billy Musgrave. The Croc Promotion camp laid the smackdown in Pro Shifter 1, led to the win by Texan Jake French, who dominated the action. Musgrave was second to his teammate in the IAME SSE 175cc category, ending the day with a historic performances in SKUSA’s Pro classes. All in all, the on-track action was tremendous with overtaking highlighting several different sections of the track. Read full story on eKartingNews.com

EKN Trackside: 2019 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SummerNationals Preview – Part 2

As the SKUSA Pro Tour wraps up on Sunday afternoon at the New Castle Motorsports Park, everyone in attendance may be there to witness history. Three-time defending champion Ryan Norberg (RPG / Kosmic) is searching for a fourth title, an unparalleled achieved in SKUSA’s long history. The Florida driver holds a 186-point advantage heading into the final two rounds of the championship chase, leading now three-time USPKS champion Brandon Jarsocrak. The Pennsylvania driver sparked his run for the title with a move to the MDR / Tony Kart package at the SpringNationals, placing runner-up and fourth to Norberg in Utah. While the 186 points may look to be untouchable, a maximum of 320 points in each round sit there for either to take. Norberg did so in Round Three and Jarsocrak can cut into that deficit with two of his own. Norberg’s last win at NCMP in SKUSA competition came in 2016 when he won both at the SummerNats. Finishing second to Norberg in that first championship season was Jarsocrak, who has stood on top of the podium in two of the last four main events. Read full story on eKartingNews.com

EKN Trackside: 2019 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SummerNationals Preview – Part 1
Wednesday, 07 August 2019 01:00

Andrew Bujdoso leads the Pro Shifter championship heading into New Castle (Photo: EKN)

It never fails to see a number of drivers in contention for the headline shifterkart title on the SKUSA Pro Tour. Many of the previous nine championships were decided in the final laps or even the final corners. Andrew Bujdoso is searching to be the ninth name added to the list of SKUSA champions, heading into the SummerNationals leading the Pro Shifter standings. Bujdoso was set to make his SKUSA debut aboard the Solo Kart after opening up the season with two wins in four rounds with Croc Promotions USA, but we have learned that he and the emerging US operation parted ways earlier this week. Bujdoso will be running under his family’s Checkered Motorsports banner this weekend, and Andrew told us on Tuesday evening that he will still test his Solo Kart in pre-event running on Thursday. He also stated that there is an option for him to jump into an “Italian special” tabbed as a CM Kart, if needed. This is obviously a developing story that we’ll follow all weekend. The 2019 edition of the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour will come to a thrilling close on the August 9-11 weekend at New Castle Motorsports Park with the 10th running of the SummerNationals. A challenging new track layout has been finalized for the season finale in Indiana, and the excitement is palpable heading into race week, with over 225 pre-entries having already been confirmed. The X30 Senior and X30 Junior class caps have been extended past 44-drivers to deal with the massive interest in the race, and with new entries continually being logged in all classes, the event is expected to top 250 drivers by the time racing goes green on the official Friday practice morning.

Those who have not yet entered, but still wish to take advantage of the pre-registration discount, should head immediately to MotorsportsReg.com to secure a spot on the grid. Pre-registration will close this Sunday, August 4 at 11:59 pm – until then racers can enter here.

Each and every Pro Tour championship battle remains close heading into the SummerNationals, with the leader less than 100 points from his challengers – so the battle for the #1 plates will very likely come down to the fight on Championship Sunday. Each title winner will be included in the 2020 SKUSA Circle of Champions, which will provide them with a sponsorship package for next year’s Pro Tour.

SKUSA Confirms IAME 175 SSE as the Feature Pro Class at SuperNationals 23 and Reveals Special Engine Rental Opportunities
Tuesday, 30 July 2019 15:05

Superkarts! USA today confirmed that the IAME 175 SSE will be the headlining class at SuperNationals 23 in Las Vegas. The announcement comes on the heels of growing support for the 175 SSE class and increasing adoption rates by teams and drivers in North America.

To kick off the debut of the class format as a marquee addition to the SuperNationals, the 175 SSE will offer the same purse structure as the KZ format. If that weren’t enticing enough, SKUSA is also pleased to confirm a special $10,000 USD bonus purse, should any driver be able to win both the KZ and 175SSE finals on Super Sunday.

“It’s a little crazy,” admitted SKUSA president Tom Kutscher. “But crazy is kind of what we’re known for. We know there are a handful of drivers who may take on the challenge, and we’d like to reward them accordingly if they pull it off.”
