SKUSA Pro Tour

2011 Pro Tour Venue Update
Monday, 29 November 2010 17:31
SKUSA released the schedule for the second edition of the program back in early September and can now confirm the venues that will play host to the SpringNationals and SummerNationals. The program’s top pilots will kick things off at the amazing P1 Kart Circuit in Tucson, Arizona in late April during the SpringNats and will then head to Grand Junction Motor Speedway for the SummerNats in mid-July. Of course, the Pro Tour will wrap up in Las Vegas, Nevada for the historic 15th running of the wildly-popular SuperNationals.

“We’ve been working on the 2011 schedule and the venues for a couple of months, and in the end, our focus centered on bringing our program to new regions of the country so that we could both grow the Superkarts! USA brand and support the racers who are part of the SKUSA community,” offers Tom Kutscher, the organization’s leader. “Last year, we were in Northern California and Wisconsin to support the Pro Kart Challenge North and Central States Challenge programs. This time around, I wanted to get into Colorado for the SummerNationals to show our appreciation to the racers who are part of our Mountain Region. Our decision to start the season in Tucson was helped by the fact that it’s centrally located to make the trip manageable for drivers from California, Texas, Oklahoma, Utah and Colorado. The fact that both venues are incredible tracks is the icing on the cake!”

Despite the fact that this week’s SuperNationals in Las Vegas has consumed much of SKUSA’s focus over the last few months, Kutscher has also been working to build the momentum for next April’s SpringNationals in Tucson. The P1 Kart Circuit is a stellar layout, the racing will be fierce and the racers will no doubt be raving about the track when they leave. Just as was the case with last year’s Pro Tour events, SKUSA is focused on making the SpringNationals an event that can stand alone as a great experience for series competitors and local racers alike. The race is scheduled for April 29 – May 1 and will include a Thursday Night Welcome Party, a mid-week Pro Tour golf outing, a Friday night BBQ and loads of track time. In addition, SKUSA has confirmed that eKartingNews.com will also be streaming a live audio broadcast of the event, as it will for all three of the Pro Tour stops in 2011.

The height of the summer season will see the Pro Tour make its debut in Colorado at the amazing Grand Junction Motor Speedway on July 15-17. Once again, the location is centrally located for a majority of SKUSA’s racers and the crew will roll of the same event package as Tucson, all focused on making the race a great experience for everyone involved.

The 15th annual SuperNationals will once again anchor the Pro Tour schedule next fall, bringing SKUSA’s finest racers to the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for the biggest race in North American karting on November 16-20, 2011. This race has exploded over the past two years, and SKUSA’s constant focus on improvement has made each event a new benchmark for American kart racing competition. This year’s race features almost 500 entries and over $70,000 in purses and prizes, both numbers that SKUSA will be focused on increasing in 2011.

The following is the official schedule for the 2011 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour:
Date Event Track Location
April 29-May 1: SpringNationals P1 Kart Circuit Raceway Tucson, AZ
July 15-17: SummerNationals Grand Junction Motor Speedway Grand Junction, CO
Nov. 16-20: SuperNationals Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, NV

SKUSA is currently developing many marketing and sponsorship program centered on the 2011 Pro Tour, and any interested companies are asked to contact the SKUSA office directly.
