2020 NOLA Pit Spot Reservations

Reserving Your Pit Spot

As always, the toughest part for the SKUSA staff in organizing large events each year is laying out and fitting everyone into the pits! Especially where there is a ‘warm-up’ event the weekend before!

This year is no different, as the 2020 WinterNationals event returns to NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, LA, with a Texas Sprint Racing Series (TSRS) event the weekend before. ALL RACERS or TEAM OWNERS can do their part now by reserving the space they will need (as well as encouraging all drivers to get pre-registered for these event(s) - before their classes cap out!

If you know EXACTLY how much space you will need for your pit spot, please email - a complete PDF drawing (no photos please) to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Emailed pit requests will be replied to with a confirmation upon receipt.

The price of all pit spots are as follows
  • $.50/SF for spaces 3-49 (tent staking allowed in spots 3-15 only)
  • $.40/SF for spaces 50-109
  • $.30/SF for spaces 110-220
  • $150 per space for RV's (no hookups)
  • $50 to Camp in your Toy Hauler/Trailer. PLUS the pit space cost.
NOTE: The above prices are for you stay on site for the week of Winter Nationals only (3/10 thru 3/15). Pit and RV/camping spaces for the TSRS the weekend before -- 3/5 to 3/8 -- are FREE, but you are still REQUIRED to submit a complete pit request form to the email address above to assure your space is reserved -- noting 1 or both events.

For those who choose to attend the Texas Sprint Racing Series regional event the weekend before, SKUSA will work with the Texas Sprint Racing Series to do their best to assure you have the same space for both events if that is what you desire. However, there are NO GUARANTEES and obviously, this requires you to submit your pit request early -- with this request detailed in writing in order to be accommodated. Final locations for pit requests received after 2/24 will not necessarily be the same for both events, and you may be expected to move to a designated staging area for pitting at the conclusion of the event on 3/8.

NOTE: As always, the event & class sponsors will receive priority pit spot placement, so be sure to note on your pit request if you are a sponsor (and for which promoter – TSRS and/or SKUSA), OR if you'd like information on becoming one. An emailed request for sponsorship information can be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (TSRS) or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (SKUSA).

The paddock area will be rows of pit spots 12’W x 60’D and 12’’W x 40’D, so please look at the map below carefully. Your drawing should reflect multiples of these areas. Please also specify your top 3 choices for the pit spot locations you prefer (i.e., 23-27, 133-136, etc), based on the pit map. We will do our best to accommodate you.

2020 WinterNats Pit Map

Updated: 3/10/2020

ALL FURTHER PIT REQUESTS WILL BE HANDLED AT THE TRACK
FIRST-COME/FIRST-SERVED, ACCORDING TO THE EVENT SCHEDULE

Here are THE ITEMS TO INCLUDE ON YOUR PIT REQUEST EMAIL AND DRAWING:
  • The words PIT REQUEST and a TEAM OR DRIVER NAME to be shown on the pit map.
  • Please tell us if you are reserving for one or both events, and if just one, which one?
  • Full layout – with dimensions in feet – of your total pit area. PLEASE BE EXACT, AND DO NOT REQUEST MORE SPACE THAN YOU TRULY NEED. You will probably NOT be able to add space when you arrive.
  • Include space for trailer tongue, pull out generators and trailer doors (side and rear). Allow room to get the karts or other materials in and out of the doors.
  • Assume that three sides of your pit spot are fixed positions with no access. Show us how you plan on entering and exiting your pit space with your kart(s) – in relation to the pit runners shown on the map.
  • Include where tents will go, trailers, E-Z ups, VIP area, etc. NOTE: Toy Haulers will be allowed in the pits; however, if you are camping in it, a $50 camping fee will be charged in addition to the cost of the pit space. All other campers/RV’s will need to be parked in the designated RV area – NO Exceptions! See below for more info about overnight camping.
  • Tell us whether or not you’ll be renting a tent, bringing your own, or both (with notes on your drawing). See below for vendor info. Please note: your pit spot must accommodate an extra 5’ feet around your tent for the stakes.
    • NOTE: a 20x20’ tent does not fit in a 20x20’ space, allow room for the way you will secure it. There is Absolutely NO Staking of tents (other than pit spaces 3-15). Gulf Coast Tent Rentals can also rent blocks to tie down your tents. Please keep in mind, these blocks are approximately 3'x3' square. These blocks must sit within YOUR pit space and not in the isles or fire lanes. Please plan accordingly.
  • Include a team name and a list of the drivers that will be pitting in the spot. NOTE: Please send your pit map when you think it is absolutely final – preferably when all drivers are registered or committed for the race(s). In the event that there are multiple teams sharing one pit area, a designated team manager/representative must be named as the person responsible for tent and trailer placement. We will NOT park teams on site unless and until ALL trailers are present -- or unless the team manager is present (this is the only exception).
  • Teams that want to guarantee they are pitted next to or near each other MUST submit their pit request as ONE COMPLETE REQUEST with a specific note on each section of the drawing, initialed by person submitting the request telling us that preference. NOTE: Following this process will allow us to achieve this goal, but may reduce the ability to fulfill specific locations due to size. If this is being requested by a sponsor, the sponsor must submit the request and be responsible for the entire pit invoice. We will do our best to accommodate.
  • Include on BOTH your drawing AND the email message your contact name and best daytime contact info -- phone and email address (mobile number, PLEASE! Not just shop number).
  • Please add a note to your pit request with your arrival date.

We will be in touch within 24-48 hours of your emailed request to confirm that each pit spot reservation submitted has been received. Then we will contact you and secure payment with you when we have you placed on the pit map.

NOTE: NO passenger vehicles will be allowed in the pits, so please do not include them in your layout.
