Team News: G-Phactory
Monday, 01 December 2008 21:06
It was the biggest and best SKUSA Supernats to date, with one of the most talented fields in SuperPro history on hand to race at the temporary track in the parking lot of the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. With that level of competition, it was visiting G-Phactory driver Anthony Abbasse that drove a new 2009 Sodi Kart ST-32BV to pole position in SuperPro, ahead of some of the best pilots from North America and Europe.

Unfortunately for Abbasse, he and Tony Kart’s Marco Ardigo made heavy contact while battling for the lead on the race’s thirteenth lap, ending his bid for victory. Similarly, teammate Phil Giebler was assaulted from behind by Danilo Dirani in the early stages of the race, dropping him down the order. Giebler recovered to wheel his Sodi Kart back to twelfth. EKN Trackside: SKUSA SuperNationals XII - Thursday Report
Friday, 21 November 2008 08:49
The buzz and excitement was in the air for the opening day of the National Guard Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XII outside the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Throughout the paddock, drivers and crew smiled from ear to ear with anticipation of the biggest SuperNats ever. Thursday was a full day of practice, beginning in the early hours of the day and ending under the lights around the temporary circuit just off the Las Vegas Strip.

The track can be summed up with two words…scary fast. The opening corners of the circuit is a fast left kink into a hard braking zone right hand corner. That takes you to a left-right combo that leads on to the long back straight that is near 600 feet long into the ‘bus stop’ that has wreak havoc on drivers, especially the Juniors. Once through the ‘bus stop’ it’s quickly into a 180 degree right hand turn that lead on the over 700 foot straightaway. Another great passing opportunity at the end of the stretch with another 180 degree left-hander with a short shute to the final corner, the last 180. The top speed is reaching 90mph for the shifter karts with an average lap speed of 60mph around the near 7/10th circuit. Read Full Story on EKN.
