The 20th running of the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals promises to be the biggest event in the race's history (Photo: otp.ca) For many in the karting community, the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals has become the official season finale; that massive must-attend event that caps a great year of competition. This November’s edition will be extra-special, as SKUSA will celebrate the 20th running of this incredible spectacle, one that has helped to take the sport of karting to a new level. The race will make its second appearance at the Las Vegas Convention Center and a total of nine categories will be offered. A brand new track layout is also in the works, and an exciting announcement regarding this effort will be announced soon. The Greenlight Television cameras will be on-site once again to record the coverage for the CBS Sports Network broadcasts, and a special purse package is also ready to announce. With many racers having already entered the event through SKUSA’s Priority Pre-Entry Program, this particular announcement is to confirm that public registration will begin on August 10 at 7:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time at superkartsusa.com. As has become the norm, Superkarts! USA is expecting a mass influx of entries once public registration opens, and with class caps set in all of the categories, racers are urged to enter as soon as possible so that they don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of the action for the 20th anniversary event. SKUSA’s core classes will be featured as the race represents the final stop of the Pro Tour calendar, with four offerings in Stock Moto (S1, S2, S4 Master and S4 Super Master) and five in the IAME formula (X30 Senior, X30 Master, X30 Junior, Mini Swift and Micro Swift). The addition of the S4 Super Master class will split S4 into two separate 44-driver race groups, which will eliminate the need for the flight system of heats and the use of a Last Chance Qualifier to set the field for the main event. All of the drivers in both S4 classes will race on SuperSunday. SKUSA has also split the former TaG Cadet class for 2016, setting up separate Mini Swift (ages 9-13) and Micro Swift (ages 7-10), which will give the younger drivers the guaranteed chance to run on SuperSunday. The Mini Swift class will continue with a cap of 88 drivers, as SKUSA expects significant participation from overseas drivers. The international gearbox category – KZ – will return once again to run for a major league purse, in addition to the two SKUSA headline categories of S1 and X30 Senior. The following is the class structure for the 20th running of the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals, as well as the maximum number of drivers who will be able to enter each category: Superkarts!
