SKUSA Superkarts! USA logoOver two months have gone into the books since the last California ProKart Challenge event. Racers took on the challenging Simraceway Performance Karting Center in Sonoma before taking the month of July off for the record-breaking SKUSA Pro Tour SummerNationals in Indiana. Now, racers along the west coast are preparing to resume the championship chase at the flagship Superkarts! USA regional program. Just up Highway 101 northwest of Los Angeles is the Santa Maria Kart Track, hosting the California ProKart Challenge on August 26-27. This track, set on the grounds of the Santa Maria airport property, is both historic and challenging, having been around for ages and boasting a tight, technical layout. Attendees can also look forward to a welcome relief from the current summer heat, as Santa Maria is a destination location, calling for beach weather in the 70’s and popular attractions and restaurants, with a specialty for steak houses.

SKUSA Evaluating Eventbrite for Spectator Access in PKC Santa Maria
Tuesday, 16 August 2016 12:40

In an effort to streamline and expedite driver registration and spectator check-in, we’ve separated the registration line for PKC Round 5 in Santa Maria. Drivers (and a single parent/guardian for minor drivers) will now report to the traditional “Registration” area. All others will check-in at a separate line near registration.

Spectators and other non-drivers can now purchase 1-Day and 2-Day PKC Pit passes on Eventbrite. If you are buying tickets for others, you can specify their names on the tickets during or after checkout. You can also provide their email addresses and have their tickets sent directly to them (you will still get a copy). You can choose to email, screenshot and txt, or print tickets for your guests. It’s important to note that each barcode can only be used once and it will be your responsibility to manage your tickets like any other major sporting event. Names aren’t required on tickets but will facilitate resolving problems that may occur if you inadvertently hand out tickets incorrectly. We will not be managing a will call list, but you can still purchase passes on site.

Note: Parents and Guardians checking in with minor drivers can also purchase the above passes and present them in the driver registration line.

When you get to Santa Maria, proceed to the general registration area and look for the spectator check-in line if someone isn’t already directing you. Present your electronic or printed ticket (please have it ready to be scanned on your device). We will scan it to check you in, you will then sign the waiver and get your wrist band.

We hope this makes things easier for everyone. Your feedback is always welcome and should be directed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for this initiative.

The 2016 season resumed for the California ProKart Challenge as the program traveled north to the Simraceway Performance Karting Center facility in Sonoma, California for another record-breaking event. The Superkarts! USA flagship regional program welcomed over 180 drivers on the ‘Reverse National’ layout over the two-day event (June 3-4). Racing was a mix of everything, with a few dominating performances, close finishes, repeat winners and new faces on the podium at day’s end.
