ProKart Challenge returns to the Sonoma Raceway circuit for the first of two events in 2026 (Photo: Sector 5 Media) The ProKart Challenge is returning to action to continue its 2026 campaign with a trip to Sonoma Raceway. The May 23-24 weekend will host Round Three of this year’s Superkarts! USA regional championship program, coming off a two-round event at K1 Circuit in April. This event will mark the second time racing in Sonoma, California since 2017, with last year’s trip being the return of SKUSA competition to the ‘NorCal’ facility. This year’s schedule has the program visiting Sonoma twice, with the second event coming in August for Round Four. Those two days of racing in April at K1 Circuit helped to shape the early title chases in the 11 categories competing in the 2026 ProKart Challenge. Six-time SKUSA SuperNationals winner Billy Musgrave bested the 21-driver field in both rounds of Pro Shifter presented by Axis Kartsport. Four-time winner in Las Vegas Danny Formal stood on the podium twice on the weekend to sit currently in second for the championship standings – while Jacob Gulick had two top-five runs at K1 Circuit to be third in points. Four drivers are separated by 40 points after two rounds of racing in KA100 Senior presented by Hayner Racing Team. Jake Drew secured the Round One victory and leads the standings by 22 points over Stephen Eisert, who recorded two top five results at K1. Gavin McCune drove to a podium finish in Round Two and is third in the early title chase, just ahead of Round Two winner Matthew Cagle. The action in KA100 Junior presented by Nash Motorsportz also saw two different winners over the two rounds of racing, yet the points are led by Diesel Biezonsky. The only driver with two podium results leads the standings with a 51-point advantage over Round Two winner Koa Saito. Drew Jensen finished in the top five on Saturday and holds third place in the standings over Round One winner Cameron Johnson. Baily Murphy made his KA100 Master presented by Precision Karting debut at K1 and left with two class victories. Murphy leads the standings by 86 points over Matthew Meech. Ryan Casner and Joshua Daley each recorded a runner-up finish over the opening weekend, sitting third and fourth in the standings. Myan Spaccarelli is the leader of Master Shifter presented by Leading Edge Motorsports after two rounds. His victory and third-place result have him ahead in the standings by 30 points over Kevin Woods, with Walker Lytle in third. Nolan Bishop and Theo Kekati led the way over the opening weekend in the FZ125 Senior division presented by P1 Engines Inc. Kekati earned the victory on Saturday with Bishop taking the win on Sunday. The advantage in the standings is in the favor of Bishop, leading Kekati by 20 points. Round Two podium finisher Matthew McCoy is in third, with third-place driver from Round One Julien Villery sitting fourth in the standings. FZ125 Master presented by Precision Works Racing was swept in the opening weekend by James Skyers. The two-round winner leads the standings by 80 points over Tony Rossetti and Jeff Krogstad. The action in FZ85 Junior presented by West Coast Motorsports was led by Jude Sack. The two-time winner nearly scored maximum points on the weekend and leads by 100 over Dante Rodrigues, with Mati Dragan in third. Two different drivers came away with a first-place trophy at K1 in the FZ65 Mini Shifter class presented by Empire Karts. Tyler Wade was the winner in Round One and leads the championship by just 10 points over Cole Harris.
