Registration Opens for 2014 Superkarts! USA SummerNationals at Midnight Tonight |
Thursday, 26 June 2014 08:52 |
In just over 30 days, the city of Modesto will welcome Superkarts! USA and the karting community for the second stop of the 2014 SKUSA Pro Tour national series. The inaugural Modesto Grand Prix will play host to the 2014 SummerNationals on August 1-3, taking part in the downtown city streets. The SKUSA SpringNationals was another record-breaking event, held at the Dallas Karting Complex in May. Even greater numbers are expected for the SummerNationals, with the city of Modesto set to provide an atmosphere never seen before at a street race or Pro Tour event. Modesto Grand Prix Poster“The anticipation grows each day as we prepare for this year’s SummerNationals at the Modesto Grand Prix,” stated Superkarts! USA President Tom Kutscher. “For months now, we have been holding meetings and conducting site visits to make sure that everything is in place for what we expect to be the largest event for the SKUSA Pro Tour ever – outside of the SuperNationals. The City of Modesto has gone beyond our wildest dreams as a partner to help make this an unbelievable event for karters and for the general public to attend. It’s great for the sport to have a city like this get behind karting. With what we have in the works, including racing under the lights as the sun sets, this event will truly blow you away.” ![]() Information regarding pricing, the track map, a tentative weekend schedule, and host hotels has been posted on the SummerNationals Event Page. Currently, all three of the initial host hotels have SOLD OUT of their blocks of rooms at the special SKUSA rate, but may have rooms still available at their normal rates. A fourth host hotel is currently being sourced out and information will be posted on the SKUSA HOTEL Page shortly. No overnight camping or RVs will be allowed at this event, due to space limitations and security concerns. Pit space reservations, tent rentals and SKUSA class sponsorship opportunities will be made available next week. The City of Modesto has set up a website – www.modestogp.com – dedicated to the event. Spectators and competitors can enjoy learning more about the city, along with the numerous events they have planned to take place in conjunction with the race. A map timetable has also been created to help show how the downtown area will transform into a grand prix facility, along with the location of vendors and other activities that will be available trackside. |
