The new karting track in Pahrump, Nevada – roughly one hour from downtown Las Vegas – welcomed over 130 entries to contest the third round of the championship chase. At just over 7/10-mile long, the ‘North Track’ is a replica of the former XPlex course outside Las Vegas, site of the first five SKUSA SuperNationals. The Spring Mountain Karting facility hosted the third round of the ProKart Challenge (Photo: Spring Mountain Karting) “Everything about this new facility is five-star,” commented ProKart Challenge series owner Tom Kutscher. “It is a world-class track and something the West Coast karting community has been lacking for a long time. I look forward to its contribution to growing the sport.”Keagan Kaminski was able to make it three straight to begin the 2025 season in the Formula Works KA100 Senior class. Leading the 37 driver field in qualifying on Saturday was Aiden Kempf with a 47.210 lap. Kaminski was only off by 46 thousandths, second in the order. Kempf and Kaminski fought off Jackson Menchu early in the Prefinal before Shea Aldrich was in the mix. Eventually, Kaminski took control and went on to claim the win and pole position for the Final. Kaminski turned the P1 starting spot into a wire-to-wire victory. Cristian Martinez was the early challenger before John Dunnigan took over and held the second spot for the majority of the race. Aldrich put himself in the spot on lap 21, but would not be able to challenge for the top spot – as Kaminski scored the victory by over two tenths of a second. Martinez stood on the podium in third in his series debut with Nixx Eggleston able to work up to fourth ahead of Dunnigan. Matthew Cagle added a second win on the year in the SuperSpeed Bearings KA100 Junior division. Canadian Nathan Dupuis came away with a fast time of 47.344 lap to lead the 25-driver field in qualifying. Cagle was third in the session while Luca Popescu was second. Joshua Wheeler was able to grab the win at the line by only 86 thousandths over Janus. It was Janus jumping out to the lead to begin the 23-lap Final. He led the first 19 laps before Wheeler made his move for the front.
