Karts will be ripping around the parking lot of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in just six days as the MG Tires Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XVIII will be underway. The world-renowned event is scheduled for November 19-23, with over 500 drivers from all across the globe ready to converge on Las Vegas. The event will also serve as the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour series finale, which helps to boost the total prize package for the 18th annual event to eclipse the $100,000 mark.
“We are getting closer and closer, and the excitement is building with every minute as we get ready to travel to Las Vegas and begin building from the ground up the SKUSA SuperNationals XVIII,” stated Superkarts! USA CEO Tom Kutscher. “The final pieces are in place, the entries are in, and the last preparations are nearly complete for what is one of the most amazing karting events in North America and around the world.”

IndyCar's Marco Andretti is scheduled to compete at the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals XVIII
What began as vague online statement with a ‘tweet’ on Tuesday afternoon was confirmed by Superkarts! USA later in the day when EKN learned that Verizon IndyCar Series driver Marco Andretti would replace the entry for Global Rallycross pilot Scott Speed for this year’s SuperNationals XVIII. Speed, a three-time winner of the event, was scheduled to compete in a PSL Karting/Diede Racing CRG in the S1 Pro Stock Moto category. An engagement in Germany has cancelled his plans to return to the class that he won in 2000, which was followed by a SuperPro victory in 2001, both at the now-closed XPlex facility.

Superkarts! USA has today announced that the upcoming SKUSA SuperNationals XVIII will be televised on major primetime network television via CBS Sports Network. The move comes as a result of a new partnership with motorsports specific upstart, Torque.tv
Torque.tv is the new production venture from Roger Werner, the visionary who founded Speedvision (and later SPEED Channel). The network will serve as a motorsports specific destination for racing and automotive enthusiasts worldwide. The network’s business model will combine both a revolutionary on demand subscription package with traditional primetime network television broadcasts. Both mediums will combine to provide an all-inclusive destination for viewers on a myriad of devices, including TV, mobile, and tablet.
The deal is one of great pride for SKUSA CEO Tom Kutscher. “We’ve been approached many, many times about putting karting on TV. It’s something I’ve been very eager to do, but I’ve been adamant it be the right fit. With the sport in a very pivotal growth stage, it was important to me that the end product show karting in the appropriate light. I am very pleased to say we’ve finally found the right match in Torque.tv and the CBS Sports Network.”
