The Micro Swift division will welcome an eighth different winner during this year’s SuperSunday. The class made its debut in 2016 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, welcoming six different winners from four different countries – Brazil, Great Britian, USA and Australia. The sold out field of 46 drivers features 18 drivers returning from last year while a majority of the field will be making their SuperNationals debut.
The last three Micro Swift winners hail from the USA – Keelan Harvick, Jackson Gibson and Maxwell Macha. The graduation of Macha to the Mini level opens the door for a new driver to add their name to the historic record books. One thing that can be duplicated is a driver winning both the SKUSA Pro Tour championship and the SuperNationals in the same year as Macha did in 2023. Read full story on eKartingNews.com |

Superkarts! USA is pleased to announce this year’s inductees to the SKUSA Hall of Fame. Veteran driver and multi-time SuperNationals winner Bonnier Moulton and long-time SKUSA official and Regional Director Terry Riggins will join the Hall of Fame in the second year of program. “When you look at the 25-year history of Superkarts! USA, there’s a very small group of people who have been involved with the organization for over 20 years,” offered Tom Kutscher, SKUSA CEO. “Bonnier was a player from the very beginning of the ProMoto Tour. He’s raced in every SuperNationals and is part of a short list of three-time winners. Terry is part of SKUSA’s foundation and has played pretty much every role within the organization from driver to race director to regional promoter. These guys are ‘legend’ material when it comes to SKUSA history.”

Jacob Gulick completed the double in Pro Shifter with victory in the main event on Sunday (Photo: OTP.ca)
While the potential for rain was in the forecast throughout the weekend at the Utah Motorsports Campus for this year’s Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SpringNationals, the wet stuff didn’t arrive until the second half of the KA100 Senior main event on Sunday, and even then, not in enough quantity to bring the race to a halt. After a short lightning break as the small storm cell passed through, the Mini Swift drivers took to a damp track, and the decision to go with slicks or wets made things intriguing. More on that later. Overall, the day’s racing was ultra-aggressive once again, and even the drivers commented on the poor racecraft in post-race interviews. Despite this aggression, or maybe because of it, the racing in the headline X30 Senior and Pro Shifter categories was edge-of-your-seat type of stuff.
In the Pro Shifter class, GFC Karting’s Jacob Gulick (GFC) backed up his breakout win on Saturday to score another triumph over the stacked field of gearbox racers, having to come back from a tough start that dropped him to third. The X30 Senior race was as wild as expected, and with six drivers in the hunt, J3 Competition’s Oliver Hodgson (CompKart) emerged from the inferno to score his first major national SKUSA victory in the United States. The day also saw new winners, as eight categories battled for wins in Round Four of the SKUSA Pro Tour.

Superkarts! USA is offering KA100 Master and removing X30 Master for the 2023 SKUSA Winter Series and SKUSA Pro Tour programs (Photo: Studio52.us)
Two months after a successful 25th running of their SuperNationals in Las Vegas, Superkarts! USA is set to begin its 2023 racing season in mid-January at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires in south Florida. The sixth edition of the SKUSA Winter Series will once again be based out of the Homestead facility with two doubleheader weekends in January and February.
The class structure for the series remains virtually identical to the 2022 edition, except for the dropping of X30 Master and the potential addition of the KA100 Master class, which made a stunning debut at the SuperNationals with 47 entries. SKUSA has officially removed the X30 Master class from the Winter Series and Pro Tour and is now putting the future of the KA100 Master program on the national level into the hands of the racers.

The 2023 California ProKart Challenge returns to action on the July 8-9 weekend with a trip to the Santa Maria Karting Association facility. The third round of the Superkarts! USA regional program will be held at the Santa Maria, California facility. Following two events at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park to open up the year, the California PKC program reaches the midway point with the third event to continue the 19th championship season with a perfect sunny, breezy beach climate expected for Round Three.
Two wins in the opening two rounds puts Texas driver John Burke at the top of the championship chase in the HRT Driver Development KA100 Senior class. His two Buttonwillow triumphs have him leading two-time podium finisher Ethan Lampe by 40 points, with Kane Martin in third. Keagan Kaminski has a similar record in the SpeedSense Motorsports KA100 Junior division with two wins in Buttonwillow of his own.
