Superkarts! USA today confirmed long awaited details for their second annual SKUSA Winter Series. The action kicks off the second weekend of 2019 — January 11-13, at AMR Homestead Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires. The four-race championship will not only begin there, but in a twist of exciting news… end there as well.
“After weighing our options for venues, we were hard pressed finding a better location than Miami,” explained SKUSA’s Tom Kutscher. “The destination is second to none and a great deal of our contingent are fond of the surrounding locations.”
The twist however, is that the second event slated for February 8-10 will see the circuit ran in clockwise configuration (e.g. backwards) providing a different driving experience for Winter Series racers. “Homestead is a circuit with tremendous history,” added Kutscher. “Some of the biggest championship years in Florida have come on the heels of multiple events having been run there. The demand for racing in Homestead is by far the greatest of all the tracks in the area.”

Regrettably we must relay the news that the upcoming #prokartchallenge race scheduled for April 4th and 5th will be canceled, based on the Covid-19 mitigation efforts mandated by the state of California.
Naturally, the safety and health of our karting community comes first and everyone within the SKUSA ranks is gutted to say the least. The entire #motorsports community has been turned upside down by this, and we share in your frustrations and feeling of helplessness.
We are working hard to secure future dates and to get our arms around what the future holds for the rest of 2020. We’re all anxious to get back to doing what we love ASAP. |

It took 746 days before SuperSunday returned as the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 24 was completed on Sunday, December 5 outside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With the COVID-19 pandemic postponing the event in 2020, the ‘Mission Possible’ continued with the venue change just days before the December 1 opening day of on track session. SKUSA pulled off the 20-mile move to the LVMS property and enjoyed the new host hotel of Resorts World Las Vegas, welcoming 483 entries over the nine categories competing for the record books.

The final weekend of the 2020 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour is underway as Friday hosted the fourth round of the championship chase. Teams and drivers remained at the New Castle Motorsports Park since the end of the opening weekend on Sunday, returning on-track Wednesday for unofficial practice. Official practice on Thursday provided two days of testing on the new ‘Reverse National’ layout, utilized for the first time in SKUSA competition. Today, despite forecast throughout the weekend, was dry with overcast skies before they cleared by the end of the main events. The second half of the championship chases began with drivers establishing themselves further into the hunt or moving themselves up the order to challenge come Sunday. The 2018 season is one of expansion for Superkarts! USA, with the California-based organization reaching across the entire country in a return to its roots. Florida was the beginning grounds for the vision of SKUSA with former owner Don Janowski. Now SKUSA owner/CEO Tom Kutscher was able to rekindle the presence of the organization with the launch of the SKUSA Winter Series. What began with the inaugural event at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires in January, completed with the final two rounds of competition at the Ocala Gran Prix in February.
The prize package was solid for all categories, with plenty of opportunity to enjoy more racing throughout the 2018 season. The IAME divisions, except for Micro Swift, competed for the grand prize of a ticket to compete at the IAME International Final in Le Mans, France. A unique opportunity was given throughout all of the championships, with drivers able to select their prizes in order of their finishing position. Champions in IAME and Stock Honda categories were given the opportunity to select their prize, including a full season of racing at the SKUSA Pro Tour, free entry to SKUSA SuperNationals 22, or a free season at the California ProKart Challenge. The champions in the X30 Senior and S1 classes were also provided a set of Fittipaldi Wheels. Formula One and IndyCar champion Emerson Fittipaldi was on hand in Ocala to provide both champions with their prize.
