Cadet racing at the SKUSA SuperNationals was first introduced at the second edition of the event back in 1998 with the 60cc Novice shifter class. That category ran up to 2005 before the organization changed hands. It took the creation of the SKUSA Pro Tour in 2010 for Cadet racing to be back on the SuperNationals weekend schedule. Since then, a new winner in the TaG Cadet / Mini Swift categories has been crowned every year over this 11-race span. A 12th different winner will be crowned this SuperSunday and this driver will add his or her name to a distinct list that includes Formula 1, INDYCAR, and karting superstars. Superkarts! USA today confirmed a championship prize package for the 2018 SKUSA Winter Series and the IAME Micro Swift Category. The prizes are in addition to an unprecedented $75,000 prize pool, bringing the inaugural season total even higher.
"We know one of the most coveted prizes of the Winter Series is the trip to the IAME International Final in France," remarked SKUSA principal Tom Kutscher. Unfortunately, they just don't run Micro Swift at that race and it's left us perplexed on how to come up with something truly special for our youngest competitors."

Superkarts! USA launched the initial Florida Winter Tour in December of 1998, simply because Don Janowski and his son Joe didn’t want to stop racing in October when it got cold in the Midwest. The Florida gearbox program quickly gained supporters, which fueled momentum, and over the next handful of years, the program became the unofficial off-season racing series, run by Bill Wright. Fast forward a dozen years, and the Superkarts! USA brand made its return to the Sunshine State this past weekend, and it was a very successful homecoming at that. A packed paddock featured 220 entries, highlighted by full fields in Mini Swift, X30 Junior and X30 Senior. The racing was a little chaotic on Saturday, but things improved drastically on Sunday. On track, Dante Yu and Lorenzo Travisanutto topped the X30 Senior races, while Daniel Formal and Bill Musgrave split the S1 wins. With this event, the 2018 SKUSA competition season is underway.
