Like the Micro Swift category, the Mini Swift division will welcome a first-time winner at the SuperNationals on SuperSunday. The 66-driver field is full of young talent, many we have seen over the course of the 2021 season compete at the front to provide a full slate of contenders for this year’s SuperNationals. Less than half of the field has competed at the SuperNats in the past, making this a rookie filled roster that is one-third international drivers.
One name that has stood out throughout the season in Enzo Vidmontiene (Benik). Three wins in the first four rounds of the SKUSA Pro Tour helped the Florida driver secure enough points on the season to claim his first series championship. Enzo also secured the title at the United States Pro Kart Series, and vice-champion of the Florida Winter Tour. Vidmontiene is among the more experienced Mini drivers, having competed in Vegas twice in the Micro division, finishing 8th in 2019. Read full story on eKartingNews.com |

The 2017 season for Superkarts! USA came to a close as the sun set behind the Nevada mountains on SuperSunday, with the final checkered flag waving at the SuperNationals 21 in Las Vegas on November 19. The organization welcomed over 500 drivers from around the world to close what has been a record-breaking season – with another grand event competing around a new course alongside the famous Las Vegas Strip highlighted by the 10 drivers to score the victories. There is very little time to reflect on the past 11 months, as the 2018 season is quickly approaching with a much earlier start for SKUSA compared to year’s past.
Both new and familiar grounds are on the horizon for Superkarts! USA. The launch of the new SKUSA Winter Series takes the organization back to Florida in a two-event, four-round championship to serve as the unofficial ‘spring training’ program for the 2018 season. All five IAME and four Stock Honda categories from the SKUSA Pro Tour will be included, along with two local option Briggs 206 classes (both Senior and Master) to round out the class structure. This is an adjustment from the previous announcement about the Winter Series classes, due to significant input from the racers.

Fresh off the heels of announcing the shifter kart class expansion to include KZ engines, SKUSA is also pleased to unveil their 2020 prize structure for this year’s Pro Tour. In a move consistent with giving back to the customer, SKUSA is excited to confirm the largest prize package to date for the upcoming national championship.
“We spent a great deal of time speaking to teams and drivers in the paddock,” explained SKUSA president Tom Kutscher. “We asked a lot of competitors what prizes get them most excited, and to no surprise — cash is king. SKUSA will be taking it to the next level in 2020, and we couldn’t be more excited to once again be giving back to our racers.”
Even More Pro Class Weekend Prize Money
Prize money will be increased in Pro Shifter, X30 Senior, and even the X30 Junior class at the Winter, Spring and SummerNationals. SKUSA will be awarding a staggering $10,000* per class to the top five drivers in the overall point standings, cumulatively, for each weekend $5000 per round to the top five drivers.

The California ProKart Challenge resumed the 2019 season with the first ever two-race weekend in series history. Rounds Two and Three were held at the CalSpeed Karting facility on June 8-9 following the opening event of 2019 in Buttonwillow in March. Approximately 150 competitors navigated the ‘Tecnico’ layout under challenging-hot weather conditions each day, totaling over 300 entries for the weekend. A number of drivers were able to double up in the win column on the weekend in their respective categories, closing out the first half of the 2019 championship chase for the California PKC. Racers also made history by setting new track records in all California PKC classes on their Evinco Tires, as well as winning incredible podium and raffle prizes.

2021 Pro Tour champion Gianmatteo Rousseau leads the top contenders for victory at SuperNats 24 (Photo: EKN)
A fifth name will be added to the history books on SuperSunday when the final checkered flag waves for the Micro Swift main event. The sold out 48-driver field features no former winner, with all but three drivers making their SuperNationals debut. In the past, the Micro drivers have kept their heads on over the course of the event with no major issues. We hope to see the same for the international field, including six different countries with 16 drivers from outside the USA.
Of the three drivers returning, one includes the 2021 SKUSA Pro Tour champion Gianmatteo Rousseau (Nitro Kart). Rousseau came away with the series championship based off the two wins from the WinterNationals. He went podium-less the remainder of the season. Third in the standings for 2021 was Tristan Murphy (Nitro Kart). Murphy picked up his first Pro Tour victory at the SpringNationals, landing on the podium two more times and also won the California ProKart Challenge championship.
